  • Chequers is the official country house of the UK`s Prime Minister. The grade 1 listed building was originally a manor house dating from the 16th century. It was given to the nation by Sir Arthur Lee in 1917 as an altruistic gift for the benefit of the Country. Many famous meetings of politicians have happened there. It was a particular favourite of Margaret Thatcher.

    Wow. Sure looks like railroad rails cut up and being used as fence posts. Surprised you can get so close to the house. Thx for posting, especially the drone video.

      Thanks I was surprised too.The rights of public footpaths in the UK are quite strong and often date back hundreds of years before the age of houses built on the land

      That's Chartwell in Kent which the Churchill family owned.This is owned by UK government like 10 Downing St is 👍
