A nice summary that is also woven with hints for next season. I hope that Shelby would be a key character in S3, learning more about Toni's background and her relationship with her mother, how it came about that she even got to the island from everyone. She lives on the street. Who paid for it? More shoni Scenes together. That they will not be separated to produce drama. I would have been happily happy for more screen time for the female characters overall.
Shelby doesn't want to go home to her family. Also, I wouldn't put it past Gretchen to threaten to do something to Toni. Toni is still a child in the foster care system. Gretchen could have promised to put her in a horrid situation if she did not work for her, or a good situation if she did. Or she could have threatened to give video of her activities to Shelby's father. What we can infer from her visit to Seth with the same candy she offered Shelby... is that he is probably the new male operative.
@@yuinq1967 It’s been a month+ since I binged it. Gretchen is walking down the hall finishing a conversation while holding a bowl of candies. The scene ends when she opens a door and you see Josh sitting in the bed. I meant we can assume Seth and Josh are operatives. I misspoke before.
I don't know why I discovered this video only now but I don't believe Shelby is the new operative...they used the same trick in S1 with Dot,of showing a girl right after mentioning the operative to make us believe it was her...I won't fall for the same trick twice!!😤I believe the new operative is Martha....😬
Nora could not have prevented Rachel from losing her hand to the shark, and she did swim out there to try to save her. But I definitely want to know what happened to Nora after she was returned to the bunker and why she didn't try to help the girls more once she was there.
Yeah, like why did they stop Raf from beating Seth, but didn't stop all the times when the girls were near death (Rachel losing a HAND, food poisoning, Martha going comatose, Leah almost drowing...and so on and so forth....
at the beginning of the season i wasn’t all for having the boys introduced into the show. but in retrospect it makes sense to further prove Gretchen’s hypothesis for her experiment. and i’ve already formed a connection with some of them, some have already thrown me through an emotional loop lol
I'm really looking forward to seeing the groups interact with each other especially since the girls are much closer and cohesive as unit than the boys, will this break that up or solidify it? I'm also really interested in seeing the girls react to Leah's meddling with the boys and Gretchen and whether or not they were somehow finding a way to communicate while locked up. I personally don't want to see that much new relationship drama between the two groups, I just think focusing on the one existing couple is enough and I love their complex dynamic, I'd like to see the drama between the two groups stem from the situation they're in and how they try to get out of it/possibly interact with Seth and/or Nora. I also imagine that there will be fallout amongst the girls from Leah's scheming, especially when Rachel learns about Nora, that it could cause their group to potentially split up (though I don't see it lasting) and take sides. I'd imagine it would be Leah, Fatin, Shelby and possibly Dot on one side and Rachel, Toni, and Martha on the other. It will also be interesting to see the rest of the guys reactions when they get caught up to speed on everything Leah knows. I also can't help but notice in the final shot on the roof both groups seem to be wearing clothes that are color coded, like: Fatin and Henry are wearing the exact same colors and they're the only one in each of their groups in those colors, Leah and Raf, Shelby and several of the guys are wearing black and white, Toni and Dot, Rachel and Scotty and then Martha is sort of singled out and the only one wearing pink.
The colors definitely matter. In season 1, one of the "field notes" (trivia) was noting that Shelby and rachel were the only ones given a certain color sweater. Still not sure what it means - maybe that they were both deemed potentially unstable? Like they obviously knew to keep their eye on Leah, but the other two were maybe question marks?
@@adinakruijssen3056 my personal theory is that the colors indicate where alliances will be formed within the girls group and now with the boys added in its foreshadowing where the boys will fall within those alliances. Like it wouldn’t surprise me at all if Henry is one of the first ones to believe Fatin (and by extension Leah’s) theories and explanations about what’s been going on and he could be the one to clue everyone in about what Seth may be up to.
@@remylewis8721 yeah that makes sense. I wonder if the significance of Shelby and Rachel's colors from the S1 interviews was already "revealed"/could already be inferred, or if it's still part of the larger color coding that they continue at the end of S2. Also interesting that, while they were the only two in the same color before, they're now in different "groups". I think that makes sense with how much Rachel transformed this season. And especially how she kinda took Shelby's faith over for her (the cross kinda showing how as Rachel was finding God, Shelby was losing him). I wonder if Rachel might confront Shelby eventually (I assume she, and maybe the other in her group, will be up to something) and maybe even judge her from this new religious standpoint that they sorta share. It almost felt to me like Shelby was able to feel less guilty about straying from "gods path" because she was able to set someone else on it. She'd never throw away her cross, but she let someone else bear it.
It's absolutely garbage that they canceled it before season 3. This show was so much better than others like it. It was gritty and the characters were interesting.
But like Raf is into Seth romantically right? Am I the only one who saw this? I feel like it's hinted that both him and Leah could be bisexual. For Leah it's moreso by the list of crushes that Ben Fold listed out. And for Raf it's the way he looked at Seth. Overall, it will be interesting to see how this plays out in season 3.
This show really makes you think, I think it's obvious Gretchen wanted the girls to do better. In the first episode of season 1, the girls reveal they are CPR certified, also the boy's island has a predator that attacks them. Obviously, she stacked the odds in the girl's favor, but when you look at it objectively, the boys would have done much better without the operatives. I think Gretchen knew what Seth was like when picking operatives hence why she didn't take him with her. Gretchen set the boys up for failure to ensure that the girls would succeed.
well i think she is definitely biased against the boys, but i don't think she knew about the jaguar. it's like a "potential risk", but it's not like she put the boys with the jaguar knowingly (at least i hope so, bc if she did put them with it intentionally, then her study is just all wrong anyway). the girls are all CPR certified, but we don't have this information for the boys (maybe they all are too). and about Seth: i don't know what pushed her to select him, but we've seen how nice and kind he can appear to be at first glance, so maybe she was tricked? or paid less attention to the boys' group, i don't know. anyway, but i think she says she regrets choosing Seth as an operative at one point, so maybe she does realise how shitty things got. and she left him on the island, not bc he is a good operative, but bc he is really really really wanting her approval - he's way easier to manipulate than Nora, i bet. but yeah, Gretchen clearly wants the girls to "win" this study! i wonder how she's gonna interpret their interactions, now that both groups are stuck together.
@@elsafowl No, Gretchen could not possibly be tricked by Seth when even Kirin was able to see through him. Seth was too nice and Kirin was too much of a caricature at first, it was obvious they were going go reveal a completely different personality. I think Gretchen knew how dangerous Seth could be and that's why she chose him: she *wanted* the boys to fail.
@@MissElisabelle what I don't get is how involved Seth was into getting the group to work together at first. Shouldn't an operative be more observing instead of pushing for the male group to succeed? I mean of course he went nuts there but before that he was the reason they figured out the bunker, the jaguar situation etc-the girls didn't really have any of that. I mean Nora helped but she wasn't the main instigator-it would have been like dot or fatin being the operative. So strange.
@@MissElisabelle no I get that, I'm more questioning Gretchen and why of all people she chose him. I mean he must have gotten a clear directive no? Shouldn't she have instructed him to stay back and let them do things without intervening? Such a satisfying analysis! I struggle a little with the episodes centered on the boys, I find them very exhausting and little relatable and how they were always ready to be mean to one another pissed me off. So much in need for a next season!
yeah it was nicer to get to see the girls that we already had a relationship with than basically seeing a whole new show as if it were a series in some kinda alternate universe
1st of all I totally enjoyed season one and season 2! I am also disappointed thadisappointed that season 3 has been canceled! WHY? Your viewers wanna know
This series has awesome actors who have an excellent level of talent where they express a wide range of emotions and develop their characters over time. They for the most part were quite believable and compelling. This show addresses issues that are real concerns and problems in our society...how to deal with suicidal thinking, grief and loss, being able to be honest about who you are even when family or others in your life would castigate and shame you based on your being gay, dealing with guilt and shadow aspects of our personality..selfishness vs. self-preservation, consideration of one's own needs as well as of the well being of others in your community. Women in this series really let out their anger and were direct about it. They were also quick to apologize when offensive to other survivors and quick to forgive and to reconcile. The enjoyment the group had at the hot springs and the 'birthday' party was great...having fun interlaced with all that heavy drama and danger. I really enjoyed the character development of both the male cohort and the group of women. Initially I was prejudged against the soccer player who was 'running the show' rather than working in consensus with fellow survivors. He did indeed 'act before thinking' and initially was very one-sided in his anger, superiority complex and belittling of others. When I found out about his losing his 'father figure' coach and being expelled after being 'baited' and really looking at the complexity of this situation allowed me to feel compassion for him as well as each of the survivors. There were a few less plausible aspects to this show...like survivor having the too well organized delusion of seeing the ex-crush and having an extended dialogue and it all being a bit to 'normal' rather than being more fragmented and fraught, as one would imagine being in and out of psychosis, her 'vision' should have been more reflective of this. Also, when the guy came to pick up the 'mole' and the rescuer was hit in a way that appeared to have at least knocked him unconscious if not dead it seemed not realistic that there was no depiction of either an unconscious or dead body and he clearly wasn't in the boat either... Also, when the 'mole' got hit repeatedly with the oar and physical attack from "Raff" he wouldn't just have a little scrape on the side of his head and suddenly be fine like it depicted.. It looked like at that level of violence that he'd likely be either seriously injured or dead, so seeing him back at the ''lab' and 'in charge' of the continued experiment just seemed unrealistic. Overall, this show deals with complex current social issues and shows people changing and some of them growing in maturity even as they face adversity and differences in perspectives.
was anyone else bothered by Gretchen's use of the term "control group" ?? every time she says it I was like I don't think that means what you think it means... the way she goes about the whole experiment was the part I found most unrealistic tbh it kinda took me out of the story. like I know it's a TV show but what she's doing just does not seem feasible
Not at all. If you look into previous studies/experiments, which the show portrays (Stanford prison, little Albert etc) they’re called control groups because aspects of the subjects are specific, they’re in a controlled environment (the island, Johns Hopkins, a prison). They actually show an experiment example that’s happened in real life (where they make the girls all pick which bars are the same or whatever) and lihn (Jannette) is a part of one of the control groups but her part in it is quite important to the story, she was the one who was aware of the experiment and was supposed to help project conformity (which she didn’t) but it helps you understand the “control groups” parts of the series!
I felt it was well balanced in terms of screen time. Maybe the boys felt longer, because the characters weren't as compelling and their story not as interesting.
In my opinion it shouldn't have been well balanced. The girls literally needed to have more screen time than the boys. After all it was promoted as a series made by women about women and for women. I get that the boys needed to be brought in for the plot but sarah(the writer) herself told us that the girls would still very much be front & center so ig thats why most of us are pissed😭
Absolutely loving the show but I agree that Gretchen’s experiment is very flawed so I really hope that the show doesn’t pretend that everyone in universe agrees with Gretchen’s conclusions. Would truly prevent my suspension of disbelief.
Wow Gretchen is far more calculated and strategic than anyone could have imagined. I believe Leah was her own personal experiment to be a little version of her. The only problem is, is that Gretchen wins over Leah with experience... and WOW her choice for Seth to bring chaos to the group.. KNOWING he is psychotic is truely devilish... cant wait for season 3!!
I really don’t think the odds against the boys were stacked up against the girls worse they just dealt with it worse….they all had aggressive ppl in their midst the girls more than the boys the girls had Rachel who was overly competitive and aggressive, toni who had anger issues and leah who was EXTREMELY mentally and emotional unstable compared to the boys that only really had two kirin and seth…the girls had far more dramatic tribulations…the girls all had very personal beefs and never resorted to abuse of others and always ended up making up…the girls were mostly honest logical and empathetic from the start….also tho the boys technically “found” food that being said the girls didn’t have that luxury of having a fully stocked bunker….the odds were stacked evenly if not in the boys favor they just did worse and proved her hypothesis
Of course she offered shelbie a new life, exactly what shelvie desired. The matrix choise one i think showed whether shelbie wants to go back to her old life or appreciate her new found self and make a new one. That must be the thing grechen offered, a life with her and tony. Also everybody knows that grechen does not plan on harming or killing any of them, just doing her experiment and the sending the kids back (all except shelbie perhaps if that was the deal)
Something I don’t get that I wish the show or fans can somehow explain: how did the boys’ “ending” on their island prove that they couldn’t last longer than the girls? Gretchen’s team was forced to step in and rescue the guys since they legit had access to a boat. And that was entirely the outcast, Seth’s own doing, and it’s also her fault for choosing him to begin with lmao. Besides Seth, the guys were all functioning well together and didn’t fail in any way that Gretchen implies. For them to be stranded in the water to nearly die is not a fair comparison to the girls since Gretchen is essentially responsible for that happening.
Grechen needed the guys to lose or she would have trouble as her whole feminist hypothesis would fail and she ows money to lot of people. So she chose a less functioning group for guys so that they would have trouble from the beginning. The girls she chose all were well informed about outdoors, some athletic, one is freaking being a doctor, two good hunters, and all girls know cpr and other necessary shit. A way more formidable group. While the guys group is way less formidable even if we count of seth assuming grechen did not expect Seth to do THAT.
But I love the main characters getting together talking first and Leah was always from the start the main character in a way and raf was too I think right???
I was actually sympathetic to Seth up until he wanted to let Kiran drown. Not that his previous actions-both on and off the island-were not also illegal and should be punished but I also saw that he had obvious psychological issues, by being abandoned by his mother, years earlier. Seth needed as much long-awaited therapy as he needed punishment for his actions-of which, up until the boat, were, in my opinion, NOT irredeemable. It is nice that Leah is more respected but I blame her erratic behavior all throughout the show, even before Nora's gaslighting of her, for why she had to try so hard to get people to take her seriously.
I’m not coming back to Season 3. The ending was stupid. I think they didn’t plan for more than 2 seasons and are making it up as they go. You can only do this premise for so long before it gets stale
Hey someone clear this out for me. Dean was apparently helping Leah, right? Then why does it seem like Faber who gives her the access card to Raf's room? Am I missing something here?
I felt off about Seth just by the way he looked and acted made me uneasy and I love how kirin was my favorite from the start because I didn't like him at first a bit but then started warming up to him when he told everyone to get up and do stuff from the start he sounded like a parental figure and I was so scared but believed in our main guy in a way raf when he had a big choice to kill him, him and G is both manipulative people they are in a way I can't hate them really but raf I can
It's weird tho I realize that raf and him both I was shipping in a Hannibal kinda way like they were becoming bff's and all but it felt so off to me I was shipping them a bit but it was so uneasy to me I knew something bad would happen and it did all the time I knew the SA would come up in some kind of way and I wasn't expecting that but idk what I was expecting it was almost like oh I was right but I cried to Josh on how much I could relate to him

Considering how the boys had so much screen time in s2, i hope yall redeem our trust by giving the girls even more screen time in s3 bestie💅🏻💅🏻
I felt it was well balanced in terms of screen time. Maybe the boys felt longer, because the characters weren't as compelling and their story not as interesting.
I think it was well balanced, I was more interested in the boy's stories at the end.
ThyAxeman it wasn’t balanced at all the girls only got like 20 or 16 min while the boys got the rest
@@justanormalbot838 the focus of the story is still very much on the girls, though.
I wish the girls woulda found out Nora’s actually alive. Guess we gotta wait til next season
Season 3, when???
I think next year
Absolutely loving the show but I agree that Gretchen’s experiment is very flawed so I really hope that the show doesn’t pretend that everyone in universe agrees with Gretchen’s conclusions. Would truly prevent my suspension of disbelief.
that was so good! i can’t wait for season 3 😩
OMG IT WONT BE BC THE SHOW IS CANCELLED I CANT FUCKING BELIEVE IT
Wow Gretchen is far more calculated and strategic than anyone could have imagined.
Seth is a literal r@p!st the girls had nothing like that
she also ruined her investigation by her choosing to put seth in. it only led to fighting because of the choice she made. making it unbalanced
renew for a s3 !!!!
This show getting cancelled was a crime
Bring this show back. Typical bratty network behaviour.
Did anyone else get a little excited when in the last episode, Kirin and Josh ran into Leah, sort of like a crossover episode
hey care to explain why you cancelled this show on such a big cliffhanger?
Can we get this back please?
I agree with this
Grechen needed the guys to lose or she would have trouble as her whole feminist hypothesis would fail and she ows money to lot of people.
Im so annoyed its cancellee. S3 has amaizng potential and would have been super interesting. Also leatin supermacy
I love the take, they make such a good content
Season 3 ???
I really hope we can see more about Bo, Ivan and Kirin’s background history 🤞🏻
Seeing the two control groups join forces will be amazing! Shel-bald may seem to be hiding something about her..
alright bestie where is the season 3 announcement i'm dying over here!! also please make it 10 episodes!! 🥺🙏🏻
Cancelled
But I love the main characters getting together talking first and Leah was always from the start the main character in a way and raf was too I think right???
Guys is it true? Is season 3 of the wilds cancelled?
i cant believe this show was cancelled before we got to see what happened in season 3 ☹️
Gotta be honest, I already forgot what happened in Season 2. But I always rewatch Season 1.
Well, season 3 got cancelled so...
im so mad this show was canceled bring it back rn
Please season 3!!
But what is with the parents though? Did I miss something?? Please explain
cant believe y'all cancelled the show😢💔
give us the show back ‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️
Why was this canceled!
Please renew. I’m begging you Jeff Besos pleaaaaase
Really bummed this got canceled before a 3rd (final) season could air.
#savethewilds
you should put one of the girls as the thumbnail instead.you'll get more views
Exactlyyyy
I felt that kirin knew they'd come for them but wanted to kill kirin before it happened or believe he could be a good mole
next season should be 10 episodes.
This show being cancelled was such bull. Cant believe theyd ruin a perfeclty good show like thwt
I want to season 3. I know canceled but I want
Y'all really fucked up canceling this show man. We deserved a S3.
You can only do this premise for so long before it gets stale
they did have you seen the structure of the show
renew it
The reveal on Leah was awesome
"Female centric show"
Hey someone clear this out for me. Dean was apparently helping Leah, right? Then why does it seem like Faber who gives her the access card to Raf's room? Am I missing something here?
he did not give her...she took it out of his pocket while they were sedating her
@@payalsingh4521 cheers, will need to watch that again
Kirin is perfect
I hate that I watched this series before season 3 being out. I can’t wait and I wanna keep the fire
"will season 3 bring the return of nora?" AND THEN PROCEEDED TO CANCEL THE SHOW I HATE YOU SO MUCH
Guess we'll never find out
Season 3 pleaseeeeeee
So, it's time for you to announce season 3?
Season 3 please !!!
JUSTICE FOR SEASON 3
what episode is in 12:07-12:11?
I'm 3 months late, bestie, but it was the beginning of ep 2x07.
I really like this show and I wish it could have been given an objective Scream Prism analysis, rather than this paid for takeaway
3 temporada pra quando??
Will there be a season 3?
no, they cancelled it
season 3!
not how much of these kids capable of, but "LEAH CAPABLE OF"
Great Season ! I did Know about the show and just watched the entire marathon
Hope Season 3 Will be as good as these ones
It was cancelled:(
Season 3 PLEASE!
I just finished IM SO CONFUSED and apparently there not making a season 3
just started season 2
I also didn't feel that bad at the flash back I knew what they were trying to do and that made it worse for me to not like him
season 3 please 🙏
I felt off about Seth just by the way he looked and acted made me uneasy and I love how kirin was my favorite from the start because I didn't like him at first a bit but then started warming up to him when he told everyone to get up and do stuff from the start he sounded like a parental figure and I was so scared but believed in our main guy in a way raf when he had a big choice to kill him, him and G is both manipulative people they are in a way I can't hate them really but raf I can
so i only watched this bc the boys were boring to me in the first couple eps but now i gotta go back and watch
I demand at least a movie to give a proper finale, this was so disrespectul for the fans.
I’m so sad this was canceled
More!
I want kirin and yk who to get together josh seems like the child fr
It's weird tho I realize that raf and him both I was shipping in a Hannibal kinda way like they were becoming bff's and all but it felt so off to me I was shipping them a bit but it was so uneasy to me I knew something bad would happen and it did all the time I knew the SA would come up in some kind of way and I wasn't expecting that but idk what I was expecting it was almost like oh I was right but I cried to Josh on how much I could relate to him
Season 3 is going to be excited
as long as the boys and girls form new group

Did Seth kill the man who came in on the boat?
No, he sat in the plane with Gretchen in the endscene
