Hey...I wanna tell you a story...and it's true...I'm 17 right now...and this song means so much to me...the reason why was when I was just a newborn and even while I was an infant, my dad would sing this song to me..but eventually he became extremely Abusive...and it got to the point where he abused me...at four..I lost my dad..he just got up and left us...but he left this album in my top dresser with a note on it that says "let him keep this to remember me and for him to listen to it, and make sure it's with arms wide open"...and so all these years I've listened to this song...and it kills me to know that he was like this...
Say what you want about Creed. This is one hell of a jam.
Damn right, great lyrics especially, people mainly rag on them for being a christian band but who gives a shit as long as the music's good.

Weird to think that Creed are a hated band yet three of their members went on to found Alter Bridge.
Why do people hate Creed?
I'm not actually too sure, but I heard a lot of people don't like them. I think the main criticism is their music, that it sounds too Christian and is very bland, but again I'm not too sure.
AJA Ryan1994 Really? I must not see it, I just listened to the "Full Circle" album last night and the opening track ("Overcome") kind of sounded like Alter Bridge but with Scott Stapp instead of Myles.

Nah, it was actually written for his son when he found out that he would be a father. So it is Scott Stapp's arms that are wide open to welcome his son into the world.
