Actually yeah they have, cameras are terrible at showing you yourself, for many reasons. They create distortions that don't exist due to the nature of the flat lense. Mirror better
I used to do this with my medicine cabinet at age 8. Get one mirror, you see your mirror self. Get two mirrors, you see your true self. Get three mirrors, and now your in the fuggin' mirror realm.
I mean, I was taught about mirrors and reflections, but I never got to see myself in one of those. Is it regular part of the classes in other parts of the world?
Corner reflectors are designed to send rays back to the sender of that ray. They're most commonly used in Cats Eyes reflectors that you see on the yellow lane separators on the road because they beam the light of your headlights directly back into your eyes to help you see where the lane separators are on dark/foggy nights. They're also used in stuff like primitive motion tracking markers. You can try this out yourself by building one of these corner reflectors as shown in the video, and shining a laser pointer into thee thing, and it will shoot back out at the same angle you pointed at from
In my old home we had the folding mirrors in the bathroom over the sink. I used to sit in the sink and fold the mirrors in a way that made them show multiple reflections at a time and I'd just sit there looking at myself. I thought this was normal and I loved the affect.
tecnically the "true mirror" is the one that reverses things. a real mirror puts everything in the exact place it is when the true mirror puts them how people assume things should be but it actually reverses things lol
Moreover, they both flip the image relative to their plane (e.i. front to back), which in regular mirror tricks our brain into thinking it was flipped left to right. The true mirror flips the image twice (left to right AND front to back) which has the same effect as rotating 180°
@@katrina232no. The „true“ mirror shows, how other people see you, but a normal mirror does not flip the image, it‘s because your point of view is reverse to how you could read sth for example on your shirt
@@katrina232 no, it’s how you would look like if your front and back were switched (which has the same effect to our brain as if your left and right were switched and then you were rotated 180°) It becomes more intuitive if you hold a pen in front of a mirror. You’ll see that the tip of the pen aligns with the tip of the pen’s reflection, which proves that regular mirror doesn’t flip left to right but rather front to back.
A mirror doesn't show you what you look like to others. If I raise my right hand, my reflection raises his left hand. If I wrote a word and then flipped it around to show others, they could still read the word left to right, but the mirror shows the word from right to left. The reflected light is not in the same orientation as the incident light
fun fact, if you look at a symmetrical mirror, your eyes in the reflection will always align with the edges of where the edge of the mirrors meet. since this video was being recorded using a camera, the center of the camera lens aligns with the edges of the mirror
fun fact: the "true mirror" is the mirror that actually flips things. When you look into a mirror, you're turning yourself which is why it looks flipped. A true mirror flips your already flipped image (because you turned around) which makes it look how others would see you.
Thanks for explaining exactly What the guy said in the Video. And this mirror doesn't actually flip your image. Flipping an image Means to turn an image from top to bottom. Turning an image side to side is called flopping.
Well some cameras like iPhones actually leave the camera app like a mirror to make it feel normal while taking it ( photos are flipped back to normal after taking ) so i could see how one could just not realize it.
By seeing how much a faliure I am Thing is I need a mirror to see myself but I can see you as a failure without one and I doubt you'll see yourself as failure even with a mirror
No, it is what you look like, and mirrors do not change a thing about your appearance, the only thing they do is they flip you, so people see you exactly the same way you see yourself, its just that youre used to seeing yourself flipped, which is why it feels weird to see yourself unflipped.

I mean, I was taught about mirrors and reflections, but I never got to see myself in one of those. Is it regular part of the classes in other parts of the world?
Say pal, i don't think 8th grade physics classes would be concerned about how much you know about Mirrors (im still grade 7)

“it shatters the image of yourself”
most people have a physical image of themselves? huh

The true mirror flips the image twice (left to right AND front to back) which has the same effect as rotating 180°
so what u see in a regular mirror is what u actually look like?
@@katrina232no. The „true“ mirror shows, how other people see you, but a normal mirror does not flip the image, it‘s because your point of view is reverse to how you could read sth for example on your shirt
@@katrina232 no, it’s how you would look like if your front and back were switched (which has the same effect to our brain as if your left and right were switched and then you were rotated 180°)
It becomes more intuitive if you hold a pen in front of a mirror.
*cameras left the chat*
@ShelbySmith-py4mpthere’s a setting to turn off the reverse
not the same. Cameras are stagnant. Stagnant pictures aren't the same as seeing yourself in motion in real life.
Camera changes ur face a mirror is ur true reflection
Holy wth the likes💀
Cameras aren’t as accurate as mirrors as they distort photos
This is the equivalent of someone having a panic attack from flipping their canvas while drawing

fun fact, if you look at a symmetrical mirror, your eyes in the reflection will always align with the edges of where the edge of the mirrors meet. since this video was being recorded using a camera, the center of the camera lens aligns with the edges of the mirror
fun fact: the "true mirror" is the mirror that actually flips things. When you look into a mirror, you're turning yourself which is why it looks flipped. A true mirror flips your already flipped image (because you turned around) which makes it look how others would see you.
Exactly

And this mirror doesn't actually flip your image. Flipping an image Means to turn an image from top to bottom. Turning an image side to side is called flopping.

selfies actually reverse the picture

No, it is what you look like, and mirrors do not change a thing about your appearance, the only thing they do is they flip you, so people see you exactly the same way you see yourself, its just that youre used to seeing yourself flipped, which is why it feels weird to see yourself unflipped.

@@roidrannoc1691 on my phone (and probably all phones honestly) the front camera does reverse the image.
@@roidrannoc1691 your selfie camera is reversed like a mirror, your other camera is not. So if you want to see how you look, ask someone to take a picture of you. This is also why many people don’t like how they look in photos.
@@alphagaming382The selfie camera is indeed reversed, but when you take the picture, and then you look at the picture, the image is not reversed anymore. Atleast not when I tried it.
