At 5:15 I made a mistake on the Carrera T’s weight. It is 3200. Was in a hurry on this video and didn’t check my work! Also, the 3.2 Carrera has 217 HP, not 200.
I'm not a Porsche owner but I appreciate the brand and your channel. The 981 and 718 Spyder have become a couple of my favourites mainly because I kinda think of them as entry level Speedsters.
You stopped just short of sharing your true feelings about the 981 Spyder. There’s no shame admitting it’s by far the most special car in this beautiful family. Take care of that baby. ❤
I went right to the 981….haha. Twenty years ago owned a 1984 930 and the 981 is dialed up no matter if it is sound or driving dynamics. Glad the vast majority of Porsche owners are into 911 as well, as it keeps these amazing cars still reasonably priced. I bought it mostly because of the car reviews on the GTS at the time were completely over the top. I shifted my order from a 911 GTS to a 981 GTS. Having driven it like crazy for nine years now, I can say all those over the top reviews were not over the top at all but spot on. Steve Sutcliffe said he didn’t know what car was better to drive at the time “what, maybe a La Ferrari”, haha, Wow!
I couldn't agree more about the Spyder. I have a black 981 '16 Boxster Spyder with black buckets and red stitching and honestly of all the porsches I've owned I love my Spyder the most! Nothing touches the sound!
Your current garage is excellent right now. Both the garage itself and the cars in it. Can’t do much better than these. A great mix of styles and generations.
I’m excited to see the next 981 spyder 6 mo review…they are definitely under rated gems…which I like. People know about the gt4 but it shadows the spyder…which is good and they are more street friendly than the gt4 that’s more track oriented
Thank you for sharing. I agree wholeheartedly about the 981 Boxster Spyder. However, I am biased as I owned a 987 Cayman for over a decade before giving it up for the Spyder. In my 10000+ km on open roads with the Spyder, I have yet to encounter another one of the 981 generation… I like that. When I hear that appraisal from a knowledgeable multiple 911 owner like yourself, it's quite something. I’m looking forward to seeing more of this and your experiences.
I mean…yeah. You’ve got a pretty perfect selection of cars there. All the bases are covered. Great taste and it’s been interesting watching your ownership journey.
That 993 does it for me. Looks superb in white. If you only could own one Porsche I think 993 would be the best candidate. However G-body and 964 are amazing too. Cheers.
Great video!!! What a fantastic collection!! Love the garage too!! 😍 Would love to see some content around that as well. The lift, the floor, the wash station, the cabinets and your organization, etc. Don't be afraid to geek out on that a bit.
Nice collection. There is something to be said for finding your inner automotive peace. The new stuff is of course under warranty, but with the classic 911s it feels great to have everything sorted and you know it’s in perfect order. Also agree that the meteor grey metallic on the G-body is timeless. I have slate grey on my 964 and wouldn’t trade it for any other color.
Nice collection!!! The only thing you are missing out is the beautiful engine in the 991.2 GT3 Touring. It´s my first GT-product and it´s really addictive!!! I have a 992 GTS along side it so modern with the PDK. But when I really want to drive the GT3 is so gooood!!!
Will, enjoy your automotive contentment while it lasts! The fact that you aren't watching BAT, PCarMarket, CarsandBids, AutoTrader, and PCA Classified daily means you are in the early stages of the auto enthusiast's disease known as Contentment. Nice collection. I owned a 1988 Targa but sold it to buy a Boxster when it first came out. Like they say hindsight is always 20/20. Then I bought a Cayman and now own a 2017 Carrera. Porsche makes great driving cars, as the saying goes, there is no substitute.

You’re absolutely correct regarding the Boxster Spyder. But I’ll go one step further-the 987.1 Boxster S’s really became respectable Porsches. On a windy road they are more than capable of running with 911’s. The S models had better brakes and more power than previous versions.
@@ZBone799 If you have an issue it’s usually maintenance. The concern is somewhat overblown. If you change oil annually and/or shorten the change intervals, and don’t cold rev the car, the chances or IMS issues or bore scoring are almost infinitesimal.
Hi Will, thanks for all your efforts on your channel. I find your navigating the various Porsches and your honesty about the highs and lows very interesting. I have been driving 911's for 26 years and had multiple generations including GT cars. Like you, I have a particular affinity with the 993. I have had 5 different 993 over the years and had fun developing/modifying most of them. Interestingly my current 993 just like yours came relatively modified and like yourself I am returning it to stock. Keep you the good work on your channel it is much appreciated.
Definitely! Buckets were a must like you have mentioned. Picked it up in another state and drove it 1,200 miles home with no issues at all. Looked at Spyders but there are few available then finding one with buckets is almost impossible. There was a Sapphire Blue that popped up and was gone in an hour. I’m in Nashville so hoping to make it out to some fun East TN, Western NC roads in the spring.
Good to see a fine collection nearby to my own! I'm still meeting people around our area in the P-car community but keep an eye out for a white 718 GT4 ;)
Nice video Will. It is great you have experienced so many Porsches and ended up here. I think if you had to pick one to drive it would be the T. Just get in, drive, no worries if it will it will start, comfortable, and just easy to enjoy. I do admit the g body though is so addictive. Please keep the air cooled stock looking!
Very cool. I have an ‘86 in excellent condition with just over 83,000 original miles. I had it tweaked recently by a true Porsche mechanic. Those are hard to find. It runs and drives beautifully. I have just one Porsche and it’s nice to see your thoughts of that model being one you feel needs to be in the mix. I think, on this cold day here, I’ll go for a drive. Have a great day
I like your mancave, if you ever bump into a euro spec air cooled model, don’t hesitate to drive one because they just way nicer than the US spec versions. I like how you preserving them by stripping thoes stupid modifications like the duck tail on the 993 and putting period correct wheels and stuffs like that on it. Your collection is looking way better now then before. Both air cooled 911 is looks way better and have in beeter shape than the previous cars. Have you ever considered to get a 993 targa because they are pretty rare and their prices are going up pretty fast?
Great round-up of what you've got in the garage. I've watched content on each of these cars as posted, but to see them all summarized in one video is great. I really like the white 993, and the reversal of the modifications, including the "Carrera" decal on the bottom...totally ruins the lines of the car IMO.
Great channel. Really nice garage and collection. When you look around for differences consider say an AMG GT or another V8. Love the sound. Could I ask what type of high lift you got over the new 911T more or less what it costs and its dimensions? Something like that would allow my toys to grow.
I have an ‘88 with the aero package in Guards Red. If you’re going to have a red Porsche it must be a G body. Really highlights the black trim pieces. To quote the Red Rocker Sammy Hagar…”Knocks 'em dead Some like it hot, I like it Red”
They’re whatever came on the car stock, and I agree…they look narrow. The stock set up has always looked like that to me but I will say that they dig hard and give you tons of confidence.

Not an insult, but the 4 cylinder 718 seems to have a bias against it much like the 996 911. Runny eggs vs turbo 4 "sound". Your attitude towards ownership is why I sub. New Porsche enthusiast here. Love your channel. Looking to get my first Porsche and in turn trading in my 2023 MKV Supra 6MT. I found a 2012 Porsche 911 Carrera S 997.2 pdk with 45k miles and at $69k single owner. What do you think of the 997.2 as an entry Porsche car for a beginner?
Will - could you share your experience with the car lift(s) you have purchased/used. What are the features - good, bad, something you would change? thank you !
Chinese lift called Tiant. My understanding is most of them are made in china anyway and are private labeled here in the US. Has been just fine. No pneumatic locks/unlock - have to do it manually with a handle as you drop it but whatever. There’s a formula online somewhere where you can figure out how much ceiling height you need based on what cars you’re trying to stack. I get it serviced once a year. Thanks for watching!
Garage looks great. I have exact same cabinets and similar wash setup. Do you keep wife’s car outside? Challenge I have is not enough garage space and hate parking anything outside.
I squeeze hers in during the winter bc it’s not fair to make her use a freezing cold car in the winter. It’s tight but doable. She makes me pull it in every time though 😆
Hi - really enjoy watching your videos. Could you let me know where you got that Porsche neon sign? You mention the name of the company in the video but I couldn't quite make it out. Thanks.
Wait time for plates and title is a BIG downside. 60 - 90 day wait. Also, the plates are ugly in my view. I love a NC Blue Ridge Parkway plate. On the flip side, it saves you tons in taxes. Also, annual renewal is a non-issue. That said - and I won’t go into this any more than sharing this - I have reason to believe based on some recent correspondence I got that our government is trying to put a stop to it thanks to measures being taken in conjunction with the “corporate transparency act.” I keep politics out of my content and comments but I will say that the current administration seems to be seeking ways to disadvantage high income earners who have the wherewithal and ability to find savings here and there.
I’ve had a 991.1 Turbo, 997.2 GT3, and now the 981 Spyder. Favorite has been the GT3 but the Spyder is a close second. Turbo is a distant third, fast but zero soul/sound/excitement.
Not sure about electric. I am not vehemently opposed, but no plans to pursue anytime soon. I have also read the depreciation curve on the Taycan is brutal. Is that the case?
@@Rennthusiast well I bought it from 1st owner at a very reasonable price 😄 Depreciation I will tell you in due course 😄. The environmental impact was important for us.
@@Rennthusiast the drive is very Porsche... but of course nothing like the 964 🤩. So cool to have this transatlantic conversation! If I'm ever in NC I'll let you know (and if you are in the Netherlands... please!)

The old stuff is what is interesting, like the G Body. The new stuff anyone can get. I like your RUclips channel, but I sense you are looking for a car you will never find. I have seen you say this is a keeper, then it is on BaT. It’s all good, your stuff, but I would be selective telling your audience forever words. Thanks
Fair enough and not unexpected sentiment. I will say this much…I will NEVER play the BaT game again. That much is certain. Way too much risk. Having this channel cuts both ways (plus’s and minus’s). While most viewers see the positive impact I have had (sorting beautiful Porsches and moving them along) I have also had people who are for whatever reason really triggered by me sabotage my auctions. Tall poppy syndrome, I guess. Whatever, though. None of this really matters. It’s all a dream. Thanks for watching!
@@Rennthusiast as I ponder. I guess I just enjoy the older cars. I enjoyed watching your 2002, then the older 911’s. The newer stuff is cool, but not near enough analog for me. I like a seat of your pants driving car. I guess that is why older 911 prices have skyrocketed. Again, your show, I enjoy it. Thanks for listening
@@tayne5009 I didn’t sell any of them. For 2 months. So, no offense, but your prediction was technically incorrect. Now, if you had said in your comment “Not ever going to sell any of these?” you would have been right. The more interesting topic for me is why my buying, enjoying and selling Porsches and sharing my experiences on RUclips causes you to feel like you need to try to ridicule me in the comments under my videos. That’s not very nice.
Well, although I am unfamiliar with your channel, i think you ended up selling the current 992, so ended up selling it sooner than expected. I have had two 992’s and a Boxster GTS and hated the Boxster. too small and too much plastic feeling.
Just as I would have a very difficult time understanding how someone who didn’t change things up isn’t bored out of their mind. 😄 Some of us value the next experience more than sitting with the same one for a sustained period of time.

I keep politics out of my content and comments but I will say that the current administration seems to be seeking ways to disadvantage high income earners who have the wherewithal and ability to find savings here and there.
Best of all worlds in your garage! I saw the weight of your T as 4079. Isn't that about 800 lbs high?
It is. See the pinned comment
Will, you have great taste in cars. When did you buy a new one? Did it from from FCI, our local dealer? Love the red Boxter.
Negative….I bought it from a dealer in Charlottesville, VA. Here’s a video I did on it.

What did you do to your garage floor ?
Hey Will, just curious, how tall is your garage ceiling?
Take a look at the spec page on your T- you list weight at 4079lbs- Porsche lists curb weight at 3,254 lb
Yes, I made a mistake in my slide.
Great to hear you are content with your garage, but when are you picking up a GT car, say a GT3 997 for example?! ;)
Had a 981 GT4…but could see myself owning a 997.1 GT4 sometime in the future.
Cool! Thanks for a great channel and looking forward to some more gt3 content in the future perhaps then! :) @@Rennthusiast
I’ve had a 991.1 Turbo, 997.2 GT3, and now the 981 Spyder. Favorite has been the GT3 but the Spyder is a close second. Turbo is a distant third, fast but zero soul/sound/excitement.
where can i get that porsche sign in the background???
i need this 😂
The company is out of. Business
Just wondering, do you ever add performance mods to any of your cars?
I used to. Not so much anymore. Suspension is a must on the air cooled cars. The newer ones need nothing, at least for my use.
What an awesome collection, Will! Hoe do you feel about the Taycan? I own a 964 and a Taycan and love both. Are you planning to go electric?
Not sure about electric. I am not vehemently opposed, but no plans to pursue anytime soon. I have also read the depreciation curve on the Taycan is brutal. Is that the case?
@@Rennthusiast well I bought it from 1st owner at a very reasonable price 😄 Depreciation I will tell you in due course 😄. The environmental impact was important for us.
@jakkovaningen8350 I hear you. First owner probably took and hit and the financial end of things isn’t always the objective.
@@Rennthusiast the drive is very Porsche... but of course nothing like the 964 🤩. So cool to have this transatlantic conversation! If I'm ever in NC I'll let you know (and if you are in the Netherlands... please!)
Garage looking great - and the 4 cars in there are very well cared for - here’s to 2024 🏎👏
I was a bmw kid also. Once I drove a Porsche I never looked back.
🙌🏼
Hey, don’t forget to fix the Carrera T weight shown in the table-just north of 3,000 not 4,000
Thanks, must have mistyped that. You’re right. No way it was 4,000. Can’t go back and change the slide without deleting video…maybe it’ll just create more engagement with the content 😆
5:15 I think you may have fat fingered the weight on the T. Thanks for doing your videos!
Yes, I made a mistake…was in a rush on this one. It’s 3200 lbs.
What exhaust is on your ‘86?
Honestly I am not sure
Came on it along with a cat delete. Exhaust definitely reeks. I have the stock set up and may go back to it.
I am guessing you meant 3079 lbs for the T, not 4079? You got my FULL Support on the Spyder. I like mine better than my 997GTS
Yes, I screwed up the info on the T’s weight. Also the HP on the 86. It’s 217, not 200.
Carrera T weight is 3300 ish. The gross weight is what you listed. Porsche would never let a 911 weigh 4000 lbs. Which is typical for BMW these days.
You’re right. I made a mistake when I entered that text. There’s no way it would be 4,000 😂
Also, the '86 Carrera has 217 hp stock, not 200 you listed. Love your content!@@Rennthusiast
@Lee-zk8vu thanks! I was in a rush on this vid and it shows, I guess haha.
What city are you in?
Is that a typo or does the Carrera T really weigh over 4000 pounds?
Mistake on my part. It’s 3200 lbs.
I think you got an error in your Carrera T curb weight graphic...
I did. It’s 3200 lbs. My mistake. Was in a hurry.
You have carerra r weighs 4,000 lbs?
Carrera T weighs 3200
bro how do you have so many coupes? do you just squeeze the wife and kids in there with you, and they are cool with it?
Drive a different daily. SUV.
I heard the gov’t is cracking down on Montana plates for tax evasion. Have you heard that?
Prediction: The 992 T will be gone soon to be replaced by another modern 911.
Not going to sell any of these?
Really?
Just let me bookmark this video and set a reminder for -Chistmas. July.- this time next week.
Haha just like I predicted
Two months.
Weight on the Carrera T is wrong
Yep. See the pinned comment.
it's so hard to understand this obsessive buying and selling and changing constantly.
Just as I would have a very difficult time understanding how someone who didn’t change things up isn’t bored out of their mind. 😄
Some of us value the next experience more than sitting with the same one for a sustained period of time.
