Other than the backstory, 2003 SHREDDER was perfect in every other way, his design, his voice, his army, his power, his arsenal, his freaking 90-100 floor gauntlet tower that was almost impossible to penetrate and fight through. Don't forget his unbelievable resilience. Also, he had mystical elemental guards, who were the coolest henchmen/things ever, oh, how could i FORGET the Elite four?! Just too many points for coolness, power, style, durability, strength, intimidation, and of course, versatility. 2003 Shredder all the way baby.
Don't forget he nearly wiped out the whole tmnt multiverse so honestly just that alone should make him the best shredder period cause he almost killed off every other shredder as well
For me, 2003 Shredder is the best Shredder to grace the Ninja Turtles franchise. Given its reputation, it's hard to imagine 4Kids could create such an intimidating villain, but they pulled it off.

I didn't like their version of Super Shredder and the fact that he couldn't put his rivalry with Splinter aside to save the world from the Triceratons invasion. I never got to see the 2003 Turtles, but I don't consider that version of Shredder to be a real Shredder since it was Cyril and Utron. I saw him more as a Krang in an android body.

First cartoon shredder I grew up with being 03 shredder though the first shredder I ever saw was the original live action films shredder and makes me glad I saw those films first cause Michael Bay films left a bad impression when it comes to shredder for live action films
2012 or ROTTMNT for me. There’s nothing I can say that hasn’t already been said about Kevin Michael Richardson’s Shredder, but ROTTMNT is literally a Dark Souls boss in TMNT and I love it.
My favorite shredders is 1. 03 shredder. I like the idea of him being an alien warlord who stole the shredder moniker. The voice actor(Scottie Ray) did a phenomenal job and it was cool how he was the enemy to so many people whether it's the turtles the utroms leatherhead etc 2. Idw Shredder is one of the best in my opinion. Making him an enemy to the turtles in not 1, but 2 lifetimes is an interesting choice for the comics. I'm iffy on him teaching the turtles new stuff, but we'll see how he is Armageddon game 3. 2012 Shredder. This shredder had a cool backstory being taken from a child from the rival clan then doing the same to karai. They did a great job showing he's no joke, his coldness towards humanity is greatly shown. And ofc Kevin Michael Richardson voiced him and he's one of my fav voice actors
My favorite thing about 2012 shredder was his casualties, he killed splinter three times to put Leo in a coma, I'm sorry but I gotta say I think he's the most dangerous.

I think 2012 is probably the best, but 2003 is my favorite. Obviously I have a bias, it’s the one I grew up with, but man, I thought he was so damn cool when I was a kid. Probably one of the most intimidating cartoon villains I grew up with. And his design and voice still hold up even if he wasn’t terribly deeply written and the show had to be a bit more safe than it maybe could have been.

2003 shredder was just pure nightmare fuel. Guy was pure evil and just would not stay down. We see him kill splinters master on screen, he survives a water tower falling on him and even an on screen decapitation (Idk how they allowed that on t.v. for kids). Dude was just a straight menace

My favorite is the 2003 design i was surprised to see shredder with red eyes and to also hear to what he sounds like and the fact they actually showed him killing hamato yoshi like in the mirage comics, all that combined made him all the more intimidating and his design added to that and it gave him this boss appearance, that along with his theme song, like when he first appeared when wearing his armor and when he went to face the turtles on the building and then there was thunder and lighting, was the perfect entrance for shredder.
Honestly, I'm not sure whether I prefer 2003 Shredder or 2012 Shredder. The former is a more ruthless and threatening villain. Seriously, this guy is SCARY, between what he did to Stockman, to the turtles, to humanity itself, he is NOT someone to be messed with. He has an extremely intimidating presence and every time he shows up you just KNOW things were about to get real. However, the latter has more depth, more character, and you actually see him as a person rather than just an antagonist. He's the type of character you can both despise and pity at the same time, plus he's no slouch when it comes to being intimidating either, although he's not quite on 2003 Shredder's level. I can't choose a favorite! They're both amazing.

oh yeah 2003 Shredder was the greatest of them all. Especially since there were three amazing versions of him. Utrom Shredder, Demon Shredder and Cyber Shredder. All three were amazing.
I grew up with the 87 Shredder but often he was made a joke (there is an episode where he loses his memory and hangs with the Turles) The 1990 Shredder is what the 87 should have been. The 2012 series is perhaps the best series with the best Shredder. The 2003 series was excellent, but by the end they had three separate Shredders, not counting Karai, and I felt that watered down the Shredder threat.

2003 shredders let's think that over, not only there are many shredder in them series from the ootron, to kiria, the demon, future/cyber, we can agreed that each shredder are the same personality, same idea, same memory other then the demon to the present shredder. As Oiruko saki he lived life for long period of time thus when the ootron shredder appeared he might had looked into the history and possibly had named him self Saki and as Shredder. Business man by day villain plot by night and shadows. That shredder had planned many things to come and will always be one step a head in some occurs. Shredder may be cold but he gained alot of follows, an army, and more over the course of his life. We all know the ootron shredder is a war criminal and very powerful in his style. Hidden himself from all to never know his true ID. This shredder to me is the most bad if not most scariest shredder of all times compair to the rest of the shredders. 2003 shredders would rather face and deal with the situation himself when others failed. Even in his disable/down time he plots his next move to strike back 10x the number then other shredders would. If also compair all shredders foots and allies. You can tell the 2003 shredder dose infact care bout his men to their deaths. While others are capture, prison or destroyed in action. As cold it is for the 2003 warlord shredder to me he tops on my list the most scariest shredder ever to encounter. TMNT 2003 Create 3 Different Shredder with an extremely conveluted reason, YET THE 3 WERE DOPE & BAD ASS AS HELL 💥

Rise of the tmnt shredder has got to be my second fav they could have done a little more detail on him tho
To be honest: the 2014-2016 Shredder is verry underrated, and he is one of my favourate interpretations of the character, alongside the Batman/Tmnt crossover comics and movie Shredder, 2003 animated series/movie Shredder, 2012 Tmnt animated series Shredder and lastly Rotmnt Shredder

I personally grew up on 2003 shredder and he has stuck as my favorite version ever since he was the most menacing and has done some crazy stuff
oh yeah 2003 Shredder was the greatest of them all. Especially since there were three amazing versions of him. Utrom Shredder, Demon Shredder and Cyber Shredder. All three were amazing.
The IDW, the 2003 and the 1990s Live-Action Shredders are my personal favorites.
I grew up with the 87 Shredder but often he was made a joke (there is an episode where he loses his memory and hangs with the Turles) The 1990 Shredder is what the 87 should have been. The 2012 series is perhaps the best series with the best Shredder. The 2003 series was excellent, but by the end they had three separate Shredders, not counting Karai, and I felt that watered down the Shredder threat.

2012 for me his design looks good all of his fight scenes are amazing his backstory is one of the best we ever got for the shredder so he’s my favorite
Bro you should also included the tengu shredder, cyber shredder, and karai shredder from 2003 because the tengu is the original shredder. The number 1 shredder for me is tengu shredder because he is more ruthless than all even utrom shredder wouldn't stand a chance

No matter the version....Never Underestimate a Shredder! Each one is capable of destroying you without a thought! Even the 87 version would go ballistic if it weren't for parent groups/ tv guidelines!

2003 is just complete peak to me he felt like the most powerful and ominous iteration. The fire scene really cemented him as the best shredder in my eyes. I would never diss on 2012 shredder though as his character was perfect.
2003 is the best. The most cruel, dangerous and competent. I think utrom in an exo skeleton armor is better than regular human ninja master. It doesn't make sense how just a normal human could hold his own against four mutant turtles with superhuman abilities.

ik this will sound stupid. but i personally think that the 2014 live action shredder is really underrated, despite not being the best like others he still was fricking awesome! the only downside that made it bad was the fact he was way to much armor and weaponry throughout his body. also i agree, wtf is the next mutation shredder? that actually looks like cardboard Walmart shredder

I can see the samurai style for Darth Vader and basically has the same character but they made it obvious they are different, especially 2012 nailed in design and was iconic
The 2012 Shredder is my favorite. He had the best fighting skills and was just an evil bad ass. The 2012 Splinter is also my favorite and had had the best fighting skills as well.

2003 shredders let's think that over, not only there are many shredder in them series from the ootron, to kiria, the demon, future/cyber, we can agreed that each shredder are the same personality, same idea, same memory other then the demon to the present shredder.
As Oiruko saki he lived life for long period of time thus when the ootron shredder appeared he might had looked into the history and possibly had named him self Saki and as Shredder.
Business man by day villain plot by night and shadows. That shredder had planned many things to come and will always be one step a head in some occurs.
Shredder may be cold but he gained alot of follows, an army, and more over the course of his life. We all know the ootron shredder is a war criminal and very powerful in his style.
Hidden himself from all to never know his true ID. This shredder to me is the most bad if not most scariest shredder of all times compair to the rest of the shredders. 2003 shredders would rather face and deal with the situation himself when others failed. Even in his disable/down time he plots his next move to strike back 10x the number then other shredders would.
If also compair all shredders foots and allies. You can tell the 2003 shredder dose infact care bout his men to their deaths. While others are capture, prison or destroyed in action.
As cold it is for the 2003 warlord shredder to me he tops on my list the most scariest shredder ever to encounter.

Honestly for me it was the 2012 shredder as for me it was the series I grew up with as he felt the most human out of all the shredders and while I do love 2003 shredder the 2012 one holds a special place in my heart
idk why everyone hates the 2014-2016 shredder. I loved his detachable blades since its something unique we havent seen. he was an absolute unit and had a quite menacing design
