I think I have a some evidence on my theory with Alex could share same emotion with Rusty since has apart of Rusty's soul in him. Void don't feel emotions but Alex last word before going outside was 'wha..urg..are these emotion". Is it weird they both left the room at the same time to go backyard. He must felt Rusty's emotion towards Pink.
I know for sure that whenever Rusty stays silent, something up with him and he definitely upset of the fact she dating another but they are flirting in front of him. It explain why there so cooked steak cause he been cooking over how upset he been. Rusty really is depressed and over the fact Pink has got over him and she is moving on with new guy.
He can't on Valentines day as I hope he lying the truth as he seem like good guy. He did seem freak out by them but kept his composer.
