So many good memories and stories with this bike the bike you owned was the first triumph I snapped in half during durability testing 👌😂 and ironically it was the bike I did my last shift on , nick wilson OMG what a legend that man is and I will always be grateful to for a amazing career he gave me ❤thx for taking me along 🙏
@bikerbuddy3166 Well, I'm glad you fully tested it before I got my hands on it! Nick Wilson is always so nice to Carol & myself whenever we see him. He's usually a double act with Dick Shepherd when there's old bikes to start. Hope you're all keeping well and hope you have a good Christmas
30 YEARS ALREADY! Where did that time go. What was that clock/gauge at 7:33? Nicely grafted that one. 2:25 Have to say I liked that colour too, was it the same one in the winners circle? Always thought I'd have a Triumph, just never worked out though and now I think I'm past it! Thank you for sharing the video, oh and by the way 5:27 was taken in Tom Flowers farm entrance opposite Newhaven caravan park, the site which is ear marked for one of the average speed cameras, speed limit just been reduced in last few weeks. All the best to you both.
Think it was a fuel gauge on the blue bike. Nicely done. Yep, I should have guessed you would know where that photo was taken. Yes Newhaven and we were camping not far away behind the Royal Oak Hurdlow. Cold one 🥶 As for that road going to average speed cameras! Ridiculous.
@@Banditmanuk Now you've just remined me I've a video to make at that Pub at Hurdlow, I'll have to find the footage first! Now a question, recently in a quiz video I showed a motorcyclist to be the hero of the time, now just wondered what you think of giving him a shout out or mention on your channel as motorcyclists get a lot of bad press and as you've got a much bigger channel and it's motorcycle based it not only would be nice to spread the positive message but someone may know him and let him know his actions had not gone unnoticed. Absolutely no offence if you think it a bad idea, no problem. All the best to you both.
Great video, guys. I was hoping you would be there and cover the event. I was planning to be there with my 2016 Speed Triple 1050 S, but this year has not gone according to plan, and sadly, I couldn't make it. I'm feeling gutted I missed out on what looks like a great day. Congratulations, Triumph, for making such an awesome and well-loved bike!
@TheAdventuresofPhilJones I was half expecting you to be there with your beautiful machine. It was a great day, and the tech talks really interesting. Triumph is always a handy destination for us, we're often just there for a coffee. Hope you're keeping well? Wondered if we would spot you at Motorcycle Live.
@ Thanks for sharing the Tech Talk too, that did look interesting. I wish I was a little closer to Hinckley but hey! I didn’t get to Motorcycle Live this year either. Wishing you both well.
Intresting and quite alot of veriation between models and the years of production. I like you prefare the high up twin exhaust versions. Great vedio, thanks. 👍
Lots of lovely examples of the Speed Triples throughout the years, a bike I might have owned were it not for the Bug eyed headlights. I opted instead for the Tiger 1050 sport, more touring orientated but still with that great triple engine. My favourite was the one with the custom built swing arm, a real work of art.
I nearly bought the 1050 Tiger Sport. The 1050 was a great engine. Yes, the custom one looked beautiful, but I think they picked winner's that were good examples of more standard bikes of their era.
Brilliant video of a brilliant day.. My first speed was a red 1050 exactly the same as yours. Was also great to meet you guys at the event. See you on the road 🤘🏻🙌
@derekb2765 Cheers Derek. Yep, we enjoyed the talks (there was more we didn't record). Triumph put on a good day with all the Speed Triple owners who arrived getting a goody bag.
@@NooBiker Yep. Triumph themselves deserve a mention. Goody bags for everyone who turned up on a Speed Triple, winners certificates. MCN photography, tech talks. Just a nice day. 👌
Hello to you both, fantastic as always. I am now looking at Triumph Speed triples. I actually still like the original speed triple. Still need to make it up to Triumph Hinckley. Meet you there for coffee one day! 😁👍
It was a good turnout, and Triumph did a nice job in handing out a goodie bag to everyone who bought their Speed Triple to show. I liked them all but have great memories of my 2013 machine
Great video thanks… I’ve had three..02 955 in black, white 07 and black 2011.. last one got written off sadly but, think I would have kept it for a long time.
Had an 08 and full system,,OZ wheels, wilbers rear shock,,ktec front springs,,liked it,,but got a K6GSXR aswell and sold it 😮☘️☘️☘️☘️☘️ from northern Ireland
Fifty years biking behind me and have to say most desirable bike ever is the black Mk 1. Unfortunately came too late for my creaking body. Couldn’t see behind me when I reached over the huge tank!
I had one of the first 1050cc Speed Triples back in 2004/2005, cracking bike it was. I went for a black one, but wish I'd been bolder and gone for the green. I kept high cans, but had race ones fitted. I made my own tail tidy, so the back would get covered in road grime... got a ticket in Wales for having a dirty numberplate the fiends!
I was selling Speed Triples when they first came out. One customer bought several of them put a BMW R90S fairings on them even with analog clocks. I knew from the test rides if I owned one I'd loose my driver's license.
Haven't ruled a triple but I think it would be the Street now they are cool bikes in the litre form though and some stonking examples on show in this one guys 👍
@crumblymal8479 The modern Street Triple is plenty quick enough for the road, just quite small if you're a big guy like me. Yep some lovely bikes on show
I'm all for weight saving but one does wonder how much metal can be removed from a frame without compromising long term durability. I'm talking about concerns for people who want to keep a bike for many years. I've owned my Suzuki 1000cc V twin since 2005 !
@michaelarchangel1163 They appear very confident in their engineering. I do know the first Hinckley Triumphs had a reputation for being over-engineered but quite heavy compared to the competition. The Suzuki V twin is extremely robust in its V Strom form and the TL Sports bike.
@@Banditmanuk Back in 2005 I was actually bidding on a nice looking black and red Hinckley Trident 900 but called a halt at £1,700, so skipped over to Autotrader, where I found my SV1000, all but new with only 510 miles on it, being sold by a lad in Burnley, for £3,500, who'd gotten into financial problems, mortgage and so on. I've done a fair bit to it, dyno time etc. etc. and don't really see me selling it now. It has 31,000 miles on it and I'm 67 and way past nursing the urge to change bikes, as I used to do year on year when I was younger. A new shape in the garage is only new for a few months anyway. I hope the storm hasn't done any damage for you. My shed's roof is in a right mess. A new one would likely outlive me ! Best regards from Burry Port, 15 miles west of Swansea.
