The latest trailer, made by me, using a version of Theme of Laura by Akira Yamaoka. Once again, the latest gameplay trailer was tone-deaf with its theatricality and I tried to do a more classic Silent Hill 2 take on it.
This is how you make a trailer, Konami. Hire me. (Please Subscribe)
damn right it is!
The new song theme name? pls from the last trailer at the end guitar.
Amen to you brother
@@Clara-vl2hpsounds like a remixes version of “Promise” from the Silent Hill 2 soundtrack
@@Alexandra-uk4vr I know what you mean, but that's not necessarily true all the time, and it wasn't true for many of the original trailers either. Silent Hill 2's narrative is very visual and less about the actual plot as much as the characters and James' manifestations. I am unhappy that no footage of Eddie, Maria, Angela, or Laura has surfaced yet, but beyond that, this visual collage is the same formula implemented by Team Silent years ago. I would have loved to have dialogue playing over the scenes with cuts to characters but alas, none was revealed. I still think this is much more true-to-form than the official remake trailers, however.
A moment of silence for the people who will never hear this song because they don't play video games and/or like horror content
Well horror is the best genre so oh well for them 🤷
1:46 my honest reaction when Laura kicks the key:
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
LOL
that was so funny it had to have been an intentional edit
In my head automatically played "Ha-ha. Hey, wait!"
Exactly 🤣
I must admit, this actually got me more excited for the remake than any of the official trailers
Agreed.
"In my restless dreams... I see that town. Silent hill."
You promised me you'd take me there again someday. But because of me, you were never able to.
The world has changed so much since the original was released and that had a unique quality that can't really be replicated with more advanced technology
I agree 100%. Only someone who actually understands the idiosyncrasies of the original could replicate it because it's more than a game, more than a story, and more than any one thing. It's a recipe of many elements. I would argue the uncanny quality combined with the original intent of making a product that has that David Lynch/Jacob's Ladder character interaction is the most important thing. When offset with the epic soundtrack and atmosphere, you get something that's a monster of art on all fronts. But to replicate it is a virtual nightmare in today's culture.
@@StudioMod true, but there are ways to do it properly if you care enough.
Putting blowing leaves everywhere ruins it. Silent Hill is a dead motionless husk. Wistfully blowing leaves are not needed.
Black shadows concealing James's expression in the beginning are a must and absolutely can't be ruined, and yet Bloober managed to ruin it for some ungodly reason.
The RE4 camera doesn't work for Silent Hill. Homecoming and Downpour were not well received. And yet... they're trying it again.
Lol it seems like Konami doesn't care about fans' complaints, and that's a terrible start. This new remake is not giving us hope
@@StudioMod Yeah what made the og creation of SH2 work back then was specifically the raw experimental uncanny valley 1999-2001 game design and devs having an Innovative daring workaround mentality towards hardware limitations of that era that really created the magic secret sauce of this game . It would have to be a late 90s/early 2000s hardcore oldschool type of dev team that's not concerned with modern AAA trends and who hasn't been influenced by other successful modern horror franchises , and there's probably nobody out there like that working on the mainstream AAA level anymore , most devs mentally have been long conditioned now to copycat safe modernized game design methods , so imo It's unlikely a Silent Hill 2 remake could be done right by any current developer , and you have to remember Silent Hill 2 is a far harder horror game to modernize over a game like Resident Evil because It's a deeper more complex type of a horror game that never sold itself on jump scares or relied on flashy action... this Is probably the hardest remake anyone has tackled yet out of any genre.
@@fawkkyutuu8851 I agree. It's like remaking the era of gaming itself, which is an impossibly colossal task.
@@StudioModincredibly well said man. Despite being someone who was literally born in the year this game came out, I can somehow relate to this.
Over the past few years, I’ve been diving into older generation games and especially games of the late 90s and 2000s.
SH2, to me, felt like the perfect time capsule and a perfect accident. The limitations in hardware tech of that era led to some ingenious thinking from the devs which all culminated in an experience which actually shines partly BECAUSE of those limitations.
Whether it be in creating that uncanny feeling, or the iconic, almost claustrophobic, yet highly immersive ambient environment with the fog, lighting and camera movement.
Not to mention, the soundtrack is, no exaggeration, one of the best videogame OSTs of all time. Every single track.
I feel like those “limitations” are a part of the game’s identity and you just can’t replicate that with newer tech.
The fact that it makes the gameplay footage look better 😂
Yeahhhh. A bad trailer with cheap editing and low sound-quality can REALLY make something look miserable. Thanks for watching!
I mean theres also a limit to what you can do with that old build. I'd say that even editing barely did anything to save those clips, they just really seem like resident evil scenes but 10 years old
@@mccvvnuhwon’t excuse the poor audio mixing but he does some changes that makes it look more like silent hill than some horror cinematic trailer:
Keeps combat and story sequence separated
Takes out obvious game elements like QTE
An overpowering soundtrack that dominates the trailer; makes it seem like one long progression instead of typical trailers that have an obvious “game scenes are like this!” And “gameplay is like this!”
@@StudioModI assume they are keeping it for the final trailer or akira is still remastering it
Soundtrack and Sounds are most important in a game. look at witcher 3. the soundtrack makes the game to a "good" game. the rest, especialy the gameplay is the biggest piece of shit, but the soundtrack is insane. turn the musik off in witcher 3 an you will notice , its a fuckin shithole. i am so hoping there is an option for the original soundtrack in silent hill 2 remake like in resident evil 2.
Now this is the Silent Hill trailer we deserve !!!
Yeah the music change everything!
U dnt deserve shit 🙄 ur entitled for what 🤭 be glad they're making a remake at all
Him crying after the key got kicked made me chuckle 1:44
Lmao what's funny is that scene may display more emotion than the actual scene with his wife dying.
I THOUGHT FOR A MOMENT THIS WAS OFFICAL 💀💀💀
You know it's amazing how if you reframe the combat and orginization of the trailer you get less worried and more hype about the game and even the wierd looking combat! I like how you fixed the gun sounds though lol.
I keep coming back to this fanmade trailer because it hypes me up for the game more than anything that has been officially released. You did an awesome job!
Holy shit, this IS good. Nice work man.
It's very interesting to see how one trailer can quickly change the opinions everyone has regarding this game.
When James is looking at himself in the mirror, it looks like he's doing a DeNiro impression. They need to cut back on his facial animations in cut scenes. No subtlety.
That's what I said. It isn't even the right facial expression, James is withdrawn and confused, not melancholic.
Sucks that James shows much more emotion in this trailer rather than being detached from reality like in the original. It seems to me that they're going to cut back from the uncanny valley these mentally ill characters gave off.
Ok, I know I already told you this was great. I've been sharing this video around some SH groups... and then I came back here and watched it again... and again... and again. Like DAMN! This is so reminiscent of the original SH2 trailer from 20 + years ago, only it works REALLY well with the new remake's visuals, and makes it look so much better. The sounds you added are way better (I don't think the trailer used the sounds from the actual game, or at the least they muffled them, which was confirmed). Every SH fan should watch this!
Thank you! :)
I really like how you took out the QTEs :)))
Always happy to see you upload
Considering they used Promise in the latest Story Trailer, I'm pretty sure they saw this video!
BRAVO! Well done!!! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 I wish the trailer came out like this!!
after the new trailer and gameplay footage, im looking forward to playing this, I love this track
Now, that's a Silent Hill trailer alright❤
I thought it was a real official trailer until I read the pinned comment! Wow..what a nice work!
The combat gameplay kinda looks like evil within + re remake anyway great job Konami we're happy that this game is being alive can't wait to play this game in PS5 💙
Kinda reminds me of Callisto Protocol
It kinda reminds me of last of us a little with the over the shoulder and the combat swinging with the plank which i wouldnt mind that i love the last of us. Too bad there was never a real sequel😂😂 see what i did there
I love this so much! Absolutely phenomenal job!!! 🙏🙏🙏
Blasted this at full volume in my car
way too good man my heart is jumping
Now this is Silent Hill trailer that we want, not Resident Evil
bro kept his word, respect
This video was much better than the first two trailers released by Konami!! And this song is one of my favorites
Much better than what Konami have shown us. Well done!
i am 42 now and still obsessed with this game and playing on my PS2 Slim:70001 .
Although im skeptical, im still gonna buy it lol. I play every horror game i can get my hands on.
It's a very artistic trailer 😊
Konami doesnt understand that SH isn’t a “Horror” game ITS a “Psychology” Horror game. You cant replicate what you cant understand or fear
I think they understand it’s psychological but they don’t know shit about psychology that’s why they hired bloober and the 🌈 it’s trauma 🌈 guys xd
@@ReligiousHooker if they understood any of the key elements of what made SH a gem they will know that most of the RE they are taking note from isnt what people r looking for or what SH is! Also who the hell focus on FIGHTING IN SH LIKE YES WE FIGHT BUT ITS NOT THE REAL REASON MONSTERS R THERE!!! We r fighting our OWN demons thats what SH monsters are about.
Oh shit! I thought THIS is the official trailer :O No way! It's better than original :O Awesome!
The gunplay looks like "The Evil Within" now I'm interested 🤔
The evil within>>>>>> silent hill/reaident evil

my gosh, god bless you! amazing fan trailer 💜 You sold me the game much more than Konami xD
If I could give a 5 stars or a love reaction, believe me I will do it. This is so beautiful and the sounds behind the music are just amazing
Thank you! I worked hard on this one.
this is big mistake to change the key and bpm of the soundtrack
This trailer is awesomely made! My respects!
This is OUSTANDING! And God I love that song.
This is so much better! ❤
This is a real trailer
Place i live in looks like real Silent Hill. This is so depressing to live here😢
Ohio?😂

Thank you for sharing this before the game. Listening on loop
Now THIS HITS 😩❤️
Beautifully cut and edited.
Again, no Maria.
Giant. Red. Effing. Flag. They are going to bend the knee to Sony and give her a unisex outfit like they made Capcom do for every single female in the Resident Evil Remake series. Another beloved series is about to get the "Modern" Remake treatment and be forgotten about in a week.
IT’S BACK YIPPEE
If I had shown this trailer instead of the other one, I'm 100% SURE people would stop worrying and start getting more excited.
Amazing trailer man! Can you post the version of Laura's theme you are using? Loved how it sounded slightly different but amazing!
Los primeros segundos son glorioso.
"Mary" **seguido por la parte que pega mas fuerte de la cancion y el nombre del juego**
Difiero en algunas cosas del trailer pero me encanta que pusieras terror y accion perfectamente equilibrado. Exelente trabajo.👏🏻
This is going to hit hard, harder than Tyson in his prime
Now this is something I wanted to see!
Good job!!!!
Really really great trailer. Hit the vibe perfectly.
Dang you have talent. You just made me learn that music heavily affects game trailers. I know I sound dumb but dude this made me even more excited for this game
The cinematic approach: separate gameplay and story into two separate beats, making the flaws stand out more.
Vs
Studio’s approach: the Theme of Laura is a constant reminder that gameplay and story is intertwined, and a reminder that Silent Hill has always been atmosphere first.
The original Yamaoka score is PERFECT. Please, Konami. Don't replace it!
Congratulations! You made a much better trailer than Konami.
Now this. THIS is a trailer.
I was waiting for this thing a long time ago!
the original silent hill 2 trailers were the best promotional videos i've ever watched, they are sooo fricking good.
What a time to be alive.....
this is the official trailer.
A wave of mixed emotions and memories ripping through my mind the second i heard the song
Tbh I think I like the original better
You, me, and everyone else too lmao.
This is how silent hill really sound 👍😊
Can't wait to play my first Silent Hill ever..if they're not messing it up.
This looks really good💖
0:57 Konami, what did you do to me?
Duuuude! Nailed it! Konami's marketing team taking cues from Resident Evil as if it's the same game... Here's hoping their next trailer takes cues from this!
It still looks mediocre. Bloober is just not up to the task.
Bloober?
Bloober Team are developing the game whilst Konami are just publishing it. Bloober Team... Let's just say are not the best are creating psychological horror. @@mdalsted
As a kid, I never managed to finish any of the Silent Hill games because they scared living shit out of me but I did enjoy watching others playing it, screaming like little girls. What an experience.
Great trailer hopefully the official one will be as good as this. Great job on combining both the suspense and combat aspects of the game
This Trailer is WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY better than the original one!, Thanks for making it!
My pleasure.
Effin beautiful.
Stop this is so good! I also had never heard this version of Theme of Laura before so for a second I was like THEY REMASTERED IT!?! Now I wonder what changes they’ve made to the soundtrack, if any
Rip two best friends play gone but never forgotten
James: "Not the keys! Not the KEEEYS!!"
1:30 of the song is still the best part and really kicks in. Also, I love the expressions they gave him for the remake. Now, you can really see the pain in his eyes.
I genuinely had no idea this was being remade. Amazing!!!
Theme of Laura always give me goosebumps
the best
Nunca vou te perdoar por me fazer ficar no hype por um jogo em pleno 2024, eu te amo
You make this remake look worth playing. I'm sure it won't be the worst game ever, but the fact that we're getting this *before* any kind of, I dunno, let's call it a... "Master Collection"? Yeah, I didn't fall through several stories or anything, but it *does* feel like I pricked myself.
Usually people who keep saying "I can do it better" are a bunch of smug pricks, but for once you said it and you delivered. Bravo, sir
why is this so good bruh
I hope to relive the game in its full glory 🙏🏼
I truly hope they give this game the justice it deserves. I really don’t think this game needed to be remade, but thats what i initially said about RE 2,3,4 and now can’t wait for 5 whenever they announce it so fingers crossed for SH2🤞
Наконец-то немного геймплея показали
Bro, your work is awesom
how cool they made resident evil 4 dlc where leon visits silent hill haha
i love when we get nothing but over the shoulder camera yup im never get tired of that XDD
im getting so tired of this TT_TT
For a moment I thought this was an official trailer... and then I checked the official ones...
Excellent work!
Idk why but silent hill music makes me cry
Because Silent Hill is a sad place.
Akira Yamaoka's music is timeless.
subbed...that was beautiful😥
Deixou o trailer 10x melhor slk
グラフィックが良くなって改めて敵が全部女の形をしていることがハッキリしてより彼の心象世界や抑圧した辛い感情を臨場体験できるんだろうなと思うと辛くて最高です……
I think it's a mistake to assume that SH2 needs to "adapt" to the style of action/horror games (Resident Evil, Dead Space, The Evil Within, The Last of Us, etc) that have nothing to do with Silent Hill. The "action" in SH2 is an office clerk swinging a pipe/wood and running out of breath. A modern version of that would be similar to the mechanics in Forbidden Siren, not Dead Space or Resident Evil.
That trailer had enemy hoards, Origins QTEs, button mashing prompts as blood splashes the screen, monsters sidestepping gunshots, Nurses vaulting over ledges to kick some James Sunderland ass (Masahiro Ito even liked a tweet complaining about it on Twitter), diet Resident Evil and TLOU gameplay, Saw-style atmosphere and jumpcuts, and just generally botched the tone of SH2.
People need to re-evaluate what they mean when they say SH2 has "bad combat" if they think action/horror gameplay is "fixing" it. Having fun fighting some monsters isn't why the defensive combat is there. You're not supposed to feel "satisfied" beating a manifestation of your wife with a plank.

>**PSM: Why did you create such an ordinary main character rather than using a tough "commando" type?**
>
>**Keiichiro Toyama:** Again because the modern horror essence was the key to the game. The main character is not a hero, nor is he a strong willed person. He has and keeps his morals, but he is really just a plain, normal person. His motions, such as swinging around his items and trying to catch his breath after running, falling on climbing the stairs, etc. are not very cool or heroic, but after a while, it would be easier for a player to project himself or herself to the main character.
____
>**Did you have any particular influence with regard to those cinematic camera angles?**
>
>**Keiichiro Toyama:** In order to give the game a feeling of a real world, but an unbalanced world, we took influences from David Lynch, Cronenberg, that cinematic style.
>
>**What do you think of other horror games, like Resident Evil?**
>
>**Keiichiro Toyama:** Resident Evil 2, in particular, put aside the horror a bit and went very "Hollywood." It focused on the action, and felt more like an action movie than a horror game. We wanted to go back to the roots of what horror is supposed to be about. We want to make you scared on an instinctive level.
___
>**Masahiro Ito:** Sorry, I don't have interest in war veteran as a protagonist (in a horror game title) very much. I love the film Jacob's Ladder though. I think that protagonist who is not trained for combat is suitable for horror game.
_____
>**Akihiro Imamura:** After the underwhelming response Silent Hill 4 got, we've been gathering opinions from everywhere to make sure we come back strong with the next installment. Sometimes the most vocal opinions, for example the desire for more battles, are not always the best ones, especially for a series like this. We wanted more melee combat in SH4, but realized from fan reaction that there was just too much action, regardless of it being melee or not. That kind of action doesn't make the atmosphere creepy anymore, but kind of

>**Akira Yamaoka & Akihiro Immamura (SH4 Post Mortem):** With the SILENT HILL series, we had the policy of not displaying any gauges or icons on the game screen to enable players to become immersed in the world of horror.
This is amazing you captured what Konami couldn’t and damn that’s really sad in all honesty 😂
