The ancient teaching or beliefs of the twin soul remind me a lot of Carl Jung’s teachings of the archetypes and his theory of neurosis. Paraphrasing: neurosis is a significant, unresolved tension between the opposing attitudes of the ego and the unconscious mind. Based on the premise of a self-regulating psyche. Not that I am a believer or disbeliever, but this twin soul theory could explain the ‘twin flame’ phenomena. I personally still believe as an individual, you are a single whole in the “collective consciousness.” (Another term coined by C.J.).

I agree, I believe his teachings conceptualised spiritual phenomena in a way that most individuals can interpret or relate to. I do believe that Carl Jung is one of few psychologists who wasn’t afraid of openly letting the spiritual realm influence him and his teachings. For example, the shadow self can be coined as the “ego” - although not exact, it strives to integrate the spiritual and the material. I have hope that the will to know ones self, to be open and have discussions on our origin is the beginning of a collective spiritual awakening. Making the connection to spirituality from psychology was quite intuitive to me, I wish the same for the collective as time goes on.

Historically ego was not a dirty word, it meant the real you. Only has it in recent years been labeled as such. I feel that the better word for the false self we have created to present an "image" to the world and to ourselves is facade.

This sounds very metaphysical and I believe that the soul is beyond the metaphysical. The way I see the soul is that it's a container of emotions, feelings, desires, intentions, passions, memories, personality, and so on...We are the soul(or more accurately, we are a half of the soul because the soul splits into two when it incarnates), and the physical and spirit body are just tools the soul uses to experience life and grow.

I also don't agree with the buddhist teachings regarding the soul, especially the way they try to suppress and get rid of desires and emotions and call that bliss. Ego is actually not a bad thing, it is a part of us and serves a purpose for our survival. It is of course something that we have to learn to accept and fight away when parts of the ego do not serve us
Historically ego was not a dirty word, it meant the real you. Only has it in recent years been labeled as such. I feel that the better word for the false self we have created to present an "image" to the world and to ourselves is facade.

I believe that for the Inuit people, something tells me to look even further back, what was the land like before, and is it possible that there are some greens in the ocean and that maybe somehow through their spiritual power, the seals and penguins help them in bringing sea vegetation? This sounds very metaphysical and I believe that the soul is beyond the metaphysical. The way I see the soul is that it's a container of emotions, feelings, desires, intentions, passions, memories, personality, and so on...We are the soul(or more accurately, we are a half of the soul because the soul splits into two when it incarnates), and the physical and spirit body are just tools the soul uses to experience life and grow.

@@azurebrown3756 I did not feel you were belittling me in any way, I was just expressing my thoughts on the matter and some of the ways I believe our thoughts differ. My feeling is that we don't have to agree on everything to have an interesting and insightful conversation. So I'm not invested in people agreeing with my stances, I'm just passionate in sharing the truth I discovered. I also don't agree with the buddhist teachings regarding the soul, especially the way they try to suppress and get rid of desires and emotions and call that bliss. I feel that this kind of approach to spirituality actually damages the soul because they are going against the way the soul was created to function and that is to express and feel all of it's emotions, feelings, desires, passions, and don't act on the ones that are unloving.
What about injury? Like brain damage from a car accident?
If you have a soul then where is it. You are obviously aware of it. If you are that soul you say you have then how is there an interconnected whole?
