Thank you very much for making these videos! They really are very useful and I have learned a lot. Could you make examples of Modbus RTU and TCP/IP communication with TwinCAT?

Thanks for your comments. Yes, the TCP/IP was my plan. It is hard to show Modbus RTU because the test needs the hardware, but I don't have them. As you saw, I am working on Stepper Motor NC control these weeks,, the TCP/IP might be couple of weeks after. Thanks for watching!

These videos are really great and very well explained. Thanks a lot for sharing. I have a question you may be able to help me with. I have a non beckhoff stepper motor with an inbuilt 5v encoder. If I was to supply 5v power separately and then wired up the signals, A, B and Z, would the KL2541 see the encoder pulses or is it expecting 24v signals at A,B and Z. Thanks again for these videos.

Hello my friend, thanks for watching! According to the KL2541 manual, it can see the encoder signal "1" if the voltage is 2.5 - 30v. Your 5v encoder should be fine. Just note that the M of the 5v needs to be connected to 24v M, make the same potential.

I really appreciate you making these video, that helped me a lot. I'm now building a 3-axis cnc system, and I want to add a spindle to the system, do you have any video to show us how to setup a spindle in twincat, I mean how to config a plc spindle in twincat. I am using a yaskawa j1000 VFD and a 3phase motor as the spindle, I wonder how to make the system to know the spindle? Thank you, buddy!

Hello, thanks for watching! Regarding the spindle, I assume you will use this Axis as the Master axis, then the rest of the 3-axis will be synchronized with the master axis. If it is true, probably you can use the analog output to control the j1000 VFD. therefore, in the axis configuration, configure the 'Drive' as analog output, then use encoder simulation or an actual encoder as speed feedback. If you are going to use MC_Velocity as the VFD speed control, I would recommend you review the video "velocity control on the fly" ruclips.net/video/GrHGshftWrM/видео.html. A reinforece video will be launched on next Monday talking about the second method for speed control on the fly.
