And the most important question...which one tasted the best? I haven't tried the Great Value burgers but I did just try the Aldi burgers and really liked the taste. Not knowing if they had been seasoned I decided to try the first one without adding any additional salt or pepper. It was not needed at all. Also it didn't shrink down at all like burgers do when you form them yoursel. I think these Aldi burgers are a really good choice.
Chris M. I've eaten so many of both of these burgers that honestly it didn't even cross my mind whenever I was making the video but yes you're right I should have talked about it or showed the taste test in the video
Nor discuss the price.... honestly the weight doesn't even matter if they are both made of the same amount of beef. One just retained more water/fat. Probably because the walmart one was literally in the flames. The poor thing was charcoal black when he took it out.
Interesting. I didn't realize that so much moisture would evaporate. Still, I think you overcooked both. I saw no juice draining on the wax paper after cooking.
LS6WS6 as you know I really like the Aldi Burgers but I think I'm going to try the Great Value ones again this time because I've noticed when I get the Aldi ones sometimes they look different like they came from a different supplier
This experiment would have been more accurate if he would have switched sides of the grill when flipping. One side of the grill was probably hotter than the other.
@@lyonsdavid given the full char on the Walmart burger after turning it, the right side of the grill is likely heating hotter than the left side. That’s why it weighed so much less than the Aldi one. Do the same test but switch the location on the grill.
I’ve cooked both these ALDI and Walmart frozen burgers on a cast iron skillet (even heat on the whole pan) and the ALDI Pattie’s are still slightly larger after cooking than the Walmart Pattie’s.
Aldi and walmart burger patties are exactly the same now, same flavor also with the 85/15. I'd never buy the 75/25 patties, I;m not paying for fat, I'm paying for meat.
For whatever reason the older I get the less beef I eat, maybe 2 or 3 hamburgers a month if that. I do like having some in the freezer for a change of pace, in order to enjoy one now it has to have all the trimmings otherwise it just doesn't appeal to me. TheReaper!
I haven't tried Aldi burgers yet. However, as for Great Value burgers I've bought them twice in my lifetime.....my first and my last. I cooked some last night; they started out 4 1/4" (+/-) in diameter yet ALL of them during cooking shrunk to barely 3" in diameter not much bigger than a Krystal pattie! Oh well, lesson learned. You definitely get what you pay for.
@@Tubalcain422 Bro, my cooking skills have nothing to do with it. It’s the way they make these hamburger patties and when they pack them with a load of fat once the fat cooks out they shrink like crazy.
IMO, the Walmart burgers are overall better. But you simply can't go wrong with the Aldi burgers. They're still really good, and it's not a "you get what you pay for" situation simply because they're cheaper. So if you want burgers and are on a budget, go Aldi. But if you can pay just a little more for better quality, go Walmart. Of course you can just get a pound of ground beef and just make some yourself haha.
I never realized that but your right I have noticed before that one side seemed to cook hotter than the other, and I can now see that in my video, I going to clean out the burner tubes and the grill and see if that helps! Thanks!!

Aldi's burgers have been and are the best burgers you can buy in a store, hands down for years.
They taste better than my local shoprite store brand burgers. Cheaper to.

Ive never seen so much water come out of actual meat, if they are meat.

Pernection yeap
Lol
@@Pernection Yup better than vegan crap anyday
Being English I approve of this sarcasm. Very well done.
I like buying cattlemens ranch frozen patties from Aldis. they taste great.
I didn't know aldi was in America! It's near impossible to get those style burgers in the UK from a normal store
What about taste?
The Great Value are the bomb! Really good burger patties. Take em to the lake alot!

Great Value burgers r to die for. I was expecting some garbage stuff but I was pleasantly surprised.
This experiment would have been more accurate if he would have switched sides of the grill when flipping. One side of the grill was probably hotter than the other.
actually you are right for some reason my grill does do that, but I did not want to get them mixed up...

Yes I prefer the leaner 85/15 burgers from ALDI in the blue packaging.
How did they taste?
I like the Aldi burger's best. I am eating one right now lol
@@foobarmaximus3506 Yes they are.
You're so bad!
@@foobarmaximus3506 you must be vegan lol
I assure you aldis do not look like this anymore, no more dots. Look identical to walmart
Both are 75/25 it just depends how are they formulated and the tooling they use to form the Pattie’s on the process lines.
Frozen patties cooked on a grill are awful. Only way to cook them is on a flat top with med/high heat.
I totally agree
Try Belmont meats Angus and beef chuck in frozen aisle jewel osco. F* awesome. Thanks for the video. Cheers
Try the Kroger Frozen Quarter Pounder beef Patties
The barbecue fire looks some high.
Wlly looking a bit green!!

aldi ones are fantastic and im a burger snob. I keep them in the freezer for when i have a craving, otherwise I go fresh ground from butcher.

Yes, but can do that in horse?
Ok, great review! I'm going to Aldi's in the morning. :D
Aldi 🍔 burgers have always been the BEST!!!!
The one one the left looks like Holten..😬
I get the 4 pack of 1/3 lb ground beef patties from Aldi, it tastes so much better than this
Water Burgers.
You overcooked the burgers
Thanks man cooking 45 burgers today 😳😏
There was clearly a lot more heat on the right side so of course the walmart one cooked more and shrunk more.

Stupid. 🙄🙄
Aldi's burgers are fantastic and cheap as hell. best part is they're 100% beef
What's the price difference if any?
I don't remember exactly but most likely very similar in price!
@@lyonsdavid Thank you for the review and answering my question. Have a nice night.

Thumbs down. The only thing that matters in a food review is the taste.
I buy everything at Meijer but I actually go to Walmart just for their 12 pack beef patties, to me they have a great taste to them.
Both brands are really gross Just make your own patties from decent hamburger. Frozen Patties ? Yuk
Different strokes for different folks

Bando
Over cooked
It looks unhealthy af....not like real meats look.
6 minutes to tell me Aldi was bigger. Thanks Einstein
If u want good steaks/ burgers..you dont go to walmart..go to a real meat shop..a butchers.. so much better taste
Walmart brand meat belongs in the trash.
