Don cheadle said in an interview once that after he does a movie, he's unemployed. Those TV jobs are golden for actors, they ain't as sexy as being a "movie star", but steady pay checks matter even to millionaire celebrities
POSSIBLY I get the notion, but it's the same with TV as well, most shows don't actually go to air there's literally hundreds and hundreds of pilots a year but only a handful go to series and and even less actually last. Going to 4seasons is considered a great success because it doesn't happen often(compared to the amount of shows there are) like Chappelle was known as "pilot boy" in the industry because he had 100 pilots and NONE of them ever were made into a series it's crazy to see now where he is and how it went for him. At least with films once it's made you will get your paycheck and it'll be released in 1 form or another, TV you can film 1 season and only 2 episodes can air now yoi aren't gonna see residuals because reruns aren't happening, syndication(which is where megabucks come in the Friends cast pull $20M a yr even now because of syndication) doesn't happen because you haven't reached 4seasons or 100 episode mark. TV can be just as tough but like movies once you reach a certain point it is definitely gold as you say.

Clearly i'm talking about shows that go beyond the pilot phase, and even if your show lasts 3 seasons, that's 3 seasons worth of paychecks as opposed to one large paycheck and possibly not working again for another 5 or 6 months.

As an actress, I can tell you ... Network TV paychecks are boss!💰 💴 💳 SAG minimums (scale) for cast of a 1/2 hour program is $5,258 a week (or $115,676 for a 22-week episodic season). Mr. Cole is making a hella lot more per week than the minimum.🤩👍🏽

Torago Flint this article speaks to specifically needing a tv implying that people can use other technology to watch their favorite programming via the Internet. The article does not say that television shows are getting unpopular. And ABC and other networks are still making money on their shows and probably own their own social media channels. If you’re saying “no one is watching that shit” meaning using a television then you may have a point, but if your saying no one watches ABC, CBS, Fox Viacom programs then you are mistaken
TV is definitely here to stay. So many people I know still have shows, they watch on TV. Besides that TV's are on right now with nobody watching them. Yet, their viewership is counted.
