As a 3rd Sergeant in the "Some part of the Singapore Armed Forces", I've got no men under me to teach or excel them. Making me feel unwanted as all I do is a clerk's work.
Because of your video, you reminded me of why I've chosen my road to be a commander. I'll ensure all my duties and work will be done with pride. Tho I can't lead but I can do my best to influence the people around me. Making Singapore a better place and a safer place by defending her. WITH MY LIFE!

Honestly, this was touching. Still, it makes you think. Depression isn't something you could climb over so easily, no one just, "gets over it". From what I could see, he was trying, even before he had the speech.
Okay, this is purely my own opinion based on what I perceived. I honestly feel that if there are valid reasons, not just physically or health related, we should be able to get a by-pass or at least, have NS postponed.
While I did argue somewhere else that I feel NS is something important, I also don't feel that it should be prioritised over serious issues like this. Think about it, what if something happened even after he received the speech? In the end, he had extra days away, and really, anything could've happened in those days. His own mother could've commited suicide without him even knowing or able to help.
