Thanks for the video! My daughter is coming this fall 2024, BUT, she is disappointed about the NRH to be selected for her + a roommate (will shall see)... It's a bit crowded I may say -- Your parents are like her parents (me Cantonese and father is French, haha!)... DO YOU need to buy hangers too besides BEDDINGS?? At least her big sister is only 2 blocks away (2nd yr in Concordia), I think she's right about "they" put all the "French" people in one building, Which is exactly what she does not want! There is no way to change 😞
Hi Claire! So upset to hear that..but I assure you NRH gives you the opportunity to meet all sorts of students, and I’m sure your daughter will be able to find her own people in no time! As for the rooms, yes you do need to buy hangers. There is nothing included in the room except for the mattress, desk lamps and a “worn out” hairdryer. I’m wishing your daughter the best of luck on her first semester, and I’m sure she’ll be able to make the most of her residence 🙏🏼
@@manuelajavitte Hi Manuela, that's for replying...Ok, got it for hangers; I'll tell her 🙂 Wishing you well in McGill too, assuming that you are? What field of study are you in? May be she will run into you, hehe! You speak French and Mandarin? Lana knows a little Mandarin but fluent in French (attended private French schools in NY & here in Zurich, CH) and English being born in Calif.
@@clairedsc5807Hi Claire! Apologies for the late reply. If she is in New Residence Hall, “double room” means a room with two beds, and a private bathroom to share. Hope that helps! As for me, I’m studying business at Desautels but doing a year-long exchange in Shanghai. Wishing your daughter the best of luck, and if she needs anything she can contact me on Instagram @manuelajavitte
@@manuelajavitte Hello Manuela - congrats to your studies! Yes we are suspecting that she will have a roommate and a shared bathroom🙌 Hoping to have some AC too?! She will need to walk all the way to the Bio Chem building😅
Nice video! I moved to NRH this August; it is a good place to live. I also wonder where are the laundry rooms in NRH and if I need to bring Laundry Detergent.
Thank you! The laundry rooms are located on- if I remember well- the 6th floor, and the basement. But I’m not sure so ask reception! And yes you need to bring your own detergent
Thank you for uploading this! Moving in a week from now and this was very helpful to know what to bring. Hope you're doing well!
Appreciate it, thanks & goodluck!

@@manuelajavitte Hey Manuela, mu daughter has “double room” on her dorm reply, does it mean it is ONLY 2 double-beds with NO bathrooms in RN?
