Hey I notice this man he sang 'Kiss on My List" with hscc band now I found he sings this song from the great Delbert McClinton this simply makes me happy thanks
Google is asking me for my thoughts again. A few years back I was setting a new Video facility. I asked Barry if he bring his band along. Simple setup. 4 broadcast cams, live video switch. Audio was two Metric Halo 2882s for capture - mixed in-the-box using ProTools and it was a total blast! Enjoy
The guitarist IS one of Australia's best. I asked Barry after one of his gigs how he could afford to have Peter Northcote as his guitarist, given how much he must earn from session work, etc. He just laughed and said 'We're old friends'. Later, I realised Barry also did pretty well out of session work and corporate gigs and that this band was just a way for them to enjoy playing together to appreciative audiences.
Many Thanks for your feedback - Hope you buy Barry's DVD with footage of bass solo, Standing On Shaky Ground. RUclips footage is from original live cut before editing.

Excelente material. Autentico. Sin sombreritos ni teclados rojos.
I don't know I've been playing for almost four decades and increasingly I don't think it matters one bit what kind of guitar you have. Look at Jack Pearson or Julian Lage or Guthrie Govan ... weird choices for most of what they play but they use the same guitar for everything and it sounds great. If you like an Ibanez super-Strat Steve Vai-ish thing, go for it! It's all in the fingers and brain

James brown riff is in there
This is filth. What a tight band.
Straight filth
Dude sings like a black man and that's the best compliment I can give. That Ibanez is an interesting choice for a funk band :/

That moment when the camera dude realises that the solo is not coming from the guitarist...
Great musicianship no doubt but y'all took the funk right out of this classic. 😔
How does one learn to sing like that? Effortless.
