Been to NFLD twice. I absolutely love the province. Great ppl and such a beautiful place. Hope they get some relief soon.
hope everyone is safe out there
@Charlie Hunt yes some ppl wants to do crazy things.
Stay safe Newfoundland! Work together when cleaning up the aftermath. Glass half-full.
Crazy stuff. Warmer than average water in the ocean off the coast of Newfoundland allowed this storm to strengthen quite a bit.
Yes Emma.....all part of an ever existing cycle.....I'm sure we're all aware that snowfall is a building block for glaciers
Did I miss what exactly is the Red Cross doing.
band aids to stop any bleeding?
apparently you did.
Not much, apparently. :(

Great report from the Red Cross . Should the military say our armed forces be called out to help .
How much snow did they get ?
Colin Reardon 90* with the wind they made snow banks up to 15-20 feet
Yup, it's called winter people. It comes every year, and will continue to come every year. Some years lighter, some years heavier...just like summers, springs, and falls. Some hotter, some colder, some wetter, and some drier, some sooner, and some later.
You "some'd" it up pretty good, kudos! 👏
@r385671 ...did you miss the point? The natural process is always a little different, or changing...so "climate change" is always happening, it's always different, but not on the scale you've been sold. There are climate changes that happen on a human life span level that, to us, look dramatic and cataclysmic. To the Earth, it doesn't even notice a measly little 100 years. Then there are climate changes that happen on a 1000 year interval, that we don't know of yet because we haven't been taking records that long. There are 10,000, 100,000, 1 million, and so on, cycles that we can't even imagine. Don't be so gullible to fall for a government sales pitch that's designed to keep you in control, angry, and poor.
@r385671 that's quite a statement of someone who has told the truth
@r385671 common sense
I don’t know how you cope with it all, I hope good people are taking care of each other in their communities. You must have well stocked pantries, reliable power and internet.
Go out skiing
And Trudeau hikes the heating price
Not him directly Trudeau is just a prompt reader others around him run the show some you don't know about
Difficult not to be sarcastic about the help Red Cross is offering here.
EXACTLY WHAT DO YOU THINK RED CROSS IS DOING TO HELP? WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN? RED CROSS IS NOT AN ORGANIZATION YOU WANT ANYWHERE NEAR CHILDREN !

Where's all the global warming peoples at?
This storm happened because the ocean off the coast of NL was warmer than usual, because of global warming.
Let me guess, you think climate change is liberal propaganda right? LOL

What happened to Global warming ?
What do you mean? Please elaborate.
Neighbours helping neighbours. People on their own.
It seems that our expensive governments cannot do much. Pathetic.
It snows in Canada, but self-serving governments pay themselves before anyone else...who do they work for? Themselves.
Take some responsibility instead of shovelling excuses!
Climate change nuts cant tell us what happened in 1719 but claim the earth is warming LOL
Not very bright are you?
