Crazy stuff. Warmer than average water in the ocean off the coast of Newfoundland allowed this storm to strengthen quite a bit.

Yup, it's called winter people. It comes every year, and will continue to come every year. Some years lighter, some years heavier...just like summers, springs, and falls. Some hotter, some colder, some wetter, and some drier, some sooner, and some later.

@r385671 ...did you miss the point? The natural process is always a little different, or changing...so "climate change" is always happening, it's always different, but not on the scale you've been sold. There are climate changes that happen on a human life span level that, to us, look dramatic and cataclysmic. To the Earth, it doesn't even notice a measly little 100 years. Then there are climate changes that happen on a 1000 year interval, that we don't know of yet because we haven't been taking records that long. There are 10,000, 100,000, 1 million, and so on, cycles that we can't even imagine. Don't be so gullible to fall for a government sales pitch that's designed to keep you in control, angry, and poor.

Neighbours helping neighbours. People on their own.
It seems that our expensive governments cannot do much. Pathetic.
It snows in Canada, but self-serving governments pay themselves before anyone else...who do they work for? Themselves.
Take some responsibility instead of shovelling excuses!
