Less is more! As a listener, introducing the melody sparingly keeps me on the edge of my seat, listening and waiting for more! Bravo!

Man you swing soo much!!! Could you talk a little bit more about working on swing feeling? And how you bend your motifs in this specific tune? That would be great- thank you so much for doing the videos best wishes from Berlin- Tina

JAZZ GUITAR LESSONS BERLIN Hey! Thank you for your kind words! I never worked on my swing feel, to be honest, and I have no idea how to work on it. It’s hard for me to QUANTIFY it, which is also why it’s hard for me to teach it 😕. It’s something I picked up from listening to other pianist, when I was a teenager.
Regarding how I bend any motif to any chord - I made a video about that. It’s on my channel and it’s called - “How to improvise on chord changes, part 2”

Hello Rus, could you talk about the solo technique where the soloist develops a dialogue with "questions" and "answers" when improvising? tnx

      D. Wachmann this channel already was blowing up with 100-120 new subscribers a day... about 1,000 subscribers a week. It all stopped overnight about 10 days ago. And I now get 15-20 subscribers a day. Which is 10 times less than before. No idea what caused this. But... here we are.

If one is just soloing over chord changes, and not referencing the feel or mood of the song, then I believe they have missed the entire point of trying to communicate, the entire point of the music in the first place. The solo serves the song.
