- The “Health Research 101” webinar series is a new initiative from the American Indian Higher Education Consortium (AIHEC) which aims to provide TCU students with introductory knowledge and support on how to conduct research in the health sciences, with specific emphasis on incorporating Indigenous perspectives and methodologies. In this series, Indigenous health experts will share insights on topics like: Ethical Challenges in Research; Building a Research Question and Study Design; Indigenized Research Methods; Identifying Grant Funding Opportunities; and Presenting Your Findings in Conferences and Publications. These webinars will be hosted in the lead up to the 2025 Health Sciences Summer Institute, a four-week program hosted jointly by AIHEC and the University of North Dakota Department of Indigenous Health to give TCU students academic and professional development support to pursue careers in the health sciences.
This series is made possible through the Native American Research Centers for Health (NARCH) Building Indigenous Research Capacity in Health (BIRCH) project, NIH grant award #5S06GM142131-02).
