im gonna say i disagree on the dean slander. i think the thing with dean is he plays with RIDICULOUS effort. Explosive and plays with high tenacity. I think a lot of people are sleeping on Malcolm Rodriguez. I'd consider him more of an Eric Kendricks type. Also, I think Devin Lloyd is legit. I believe his coverage skills are excellent, especially considering he's 6'3" nearly 240 lbs. Great at diagnosing plays pre-snap (which is how he has that "eye" in the back of his head.) Also, spot on with Nakobe Dean...I just don't see it. Keep up the great work! You really know your stuff!

Agreed. As far as instincts, outside of Devin Lloyd who I love alot, Dean had some of the most impactful moments this season. I know this will never happen, but he really reminds me alot of how many scouts saw Sam Mills decades ago. Man I guess it just hit me this video, but you seem to be super low on almost all of the Georgia defenders. I think you had Cine as the 5th safety, Walker as the 6th Edge, you're not a huge fan of Nakobe/Quay/Tindall. I think I've heard you talk about Jordan Davis' inability to pass rush pushing him down the board for you as well. The only guy I think I remember you being high on is Wyatt. I just think its interesting that I've seen different mocks that, at one point or another, have had all of those guys comfortably in the first round (outside of maybe Tindall). Do you think Georgia's D was a case of the whole being much better than the sum of its parts?
It's hard to say. I'm definitely on par with the hype on Davis/Wyatt. That system just did a great job maximizing what each guy does very well. It's similar to how when a guy leaves New Englands unique scheme, they struggle elsewhere. Not saying that's going to be these case with the Georgia guys but they just weren't allowed to showcase complete games for the most part.
@@ThatFranchiseGuy Interesting. I'm inclined to agree with you. I think most of them have an air of uncertainty around them that can make them both attractive and unattractive prospects at the same time. Kinda like with Jordan Davis' pass rushing, I think its possible that he comes up to the league and is a much better pass rusher than he was in college, simply because that wasn't something he had to do much at Georgia. He certainly has the athletic traits to be a good one, unless his height makes it hard for him to get leverage on O-linemen or something like that. I'm curious if that uncertainty pushes them down the board or if NFL teams end up fully buying the hype.
I know how much college football coaches will not recruit linebackers if they're undersized but Malcom Rodrigues is a underdog im rooting for him i believe the only linebackers in the nfl under 6 Foot are Devin Bush and Denzel Perryman
I think u missed on Dean because u didn't value high enough his great trait. Hip fluidity is very important to coverage! Playing in space is a very important part of being a lb
I mean Dean has been fine, he hasn't exactly been a star player for the Eagles by any means. Marcus has mostly been right on him if anything. He went in the 3rd round of the 2022 Draft and since then his production hasn't been much different than that of a similar small LB like Christian Harris or Malcolm Rodriguez. Of course the foot injury in Year 2 is unfortunate though
i would stay away from christian harris unless you are 1 running a 3-4, 2 keep him in man. 3 blitz him a lot. He gave up 500 yards passing on average in the last 2 years and as a Bama fan he drove me nuts in coverage. i would also stay away from Troy Anderson unless you are expecting him to not start for you for a year or two...so if you are planning on trading or cutting your starting lb in a year or two then he could be THE pick so you can coach him up. Often times you need your 3rd round picks to start day 1 and have production sooo... I am not a huge fan of Dean, he was the beneficiary of the best Dline in football and he is too small to be a reliable run stuffer. I have a feeling Muma is going in the 2nd because Leo will be gone before washington picks and they are STUPID if they dont pick a true Mike LB as they dont have a mike on their roster and i dont see a world where muma is there in the 3rd. JoJo Domann is the LB my eyes are on and not sure why folks are not higher on him than they are...he is a violent tackler who fills holes well with great backside pursuit and i doubt you will find a better cover lb in this draft. Both his pass and run def grades are pretty damn high and would fit anyone's need for a buffalo nickel and depending on scheme would be a 3 down lb from day 1 imo.
Idk why bench is measured I feel like squat is more important to an NFL player lol, outside of the Devin whites of the world who have a shitty tackle form but have such freakish grip strength it usually works out
