Home to the iconic Bhilai Steel Plant, Bhilai is an industrial town in the Indian state Chhattisgarh. Apart from the industries their are various traditional hubs that makes this place really fascinating. So we are here to explore it food scene with our host Raj, a young food vlogger and You Tuber from the city. Let's take you through what all did we try during this exploration.
Our journey started in the morning from Raipur. Before catching a bus to Bhilai, which is 33 km away, we went to two popular spots namely Rajput Sandwich Corner and Saurashtra Mishthan Bhandar. In the first place we tried a delicious veg and cheese grilled sandwich while at the second we polished off a plate of aalu gunda.
On reaching Bhilai we met our host Raj at Nanhe Cafe. Over a refreshing cup of hot coffee we discussed the plan for the day and then reached our next destination, Jalaram Mishthan Bhandar in Durg. On Raj's recommendation we tried their dahi dhokla and dahi kachori. Both of them were flavour bombs.
The next destination was Mathurawasi Chaat Center in Supela. The sight of the food on the counter was absolutely tempting. We tried a plate each of dahi gunja, aalu tikki and rabri and all of them were phenomenal. Their sweet dates-jaggery chutney too deserves a special mention.
From there we went to Chotu Mangodi stall on the opposite side of the road. There we munched some freshly fried moong dal fritters along with tea.
The next eatery was Vinay Dairy at sector 6 A market. This sweet and snacks place is hugely famous for fried snacks like fritters, samosa, kachori etc. We tried an onion vada with patal mircha chutney. The predominate taste in it was that of the onions and fresh fenugreek leaves.
Next we went to Chaupati Civic Center, Bhilai to have item bomb and fruit ice cream. Kashi fast food center's item bomb was crazy dish that scored on the looks rather than taste. While the roller made fruit ice cream from Gwalior Ice cream was really toothsome.
From there we reached the street behind Miraj Cinema to have some grilled chicken from one of the numerous stalls lining it. The taste was decent.
After that we went to Madhav Fast Food in sector 10 for chicken biryani. It was indeed an amazing biryani that ticked all the boxes.
The penultimate stop was Ritesh bhel stall. People crowd this place for a serving of this light, zesty and inexpensive puffed rice snack.
Finally we ended the food tour with a meetha paan from Upadhyay Paan Center. Bhilai street food was fun to explore.

I like their food n culture. Being in Delhi fed up with Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore n all big cities.

Proud to be part of Bhiali. Here I have lived for almost 3 years and did my high school studies. Bhiali is also an educational hub. Its also called as KOTA of Chhattisgarh because many competitive coaching centres are there. 😊👍🏻
I lived in Chattisgarh for 2-3 year in childhood but the quality and taste of samosa and aloo chaat and pani puri is best. I travelled to lots of placed didn't found that taste

Ek number tour, i like quality foods, so star of the tour is Mathurawasi chat, dekh ke hi taste ka pta chl jata hai, aur agra mai hi apko bde size ki tikki ek dum kurkri milti hai, sadar bazar ke chat gali mai ..so no wonder he is from agra .

Jharkhand also has Bokaro steel City which also has a very cosmopolitan society and is a very planned establishment. Unfortunately, Anubhav ji skipped the town during his Jharkhand food vlog series.
I stay in Pune now from last 12 years, but can’t describe the feelings about being Bhilaiet. No one can match the taste 👅 of Humar Chattishgarh.

SHAKKAR KA MALA is too like MOTH of Bengal. Used it Only During DOL JATRA (~same as Holy).
Dol Special prasada or food in Bengal are MOTH , PHUT KORAI (Sugar coated roasted Bengal gram) and MURKI (Caramelized suger coated Popped rice {Khoi}).

Coffee house ka Dosa and mutton biryani, Sec-6 Hadku k Alu bande, Egg Roll n Chicken at Khana Khazana in Supela, MP sweets ki Kaju Katli, Non Veg food in Apna Ghar Civic Center, Sec-4 Ki chaat, Bhrijwasi chaat at Brijwasi in Supela. Many more eatery joints. But this all places have memories while growing up in Bhilai. It's been more than 16 yrs I left Bhilai but still visit all these places whenever I visit home.
Try sheetal's bhel. It has been claimed to be the tastiest one in the country. And it really is❤️
