Nice ride along interstate 69 to interstate 64
I think this stretch of highway was formerly Interstate 164. Awesome video.
It was until 69 took over
It was.
Great drive from interstate 69 to interstate 64 in Indiana. This used to be interstate 164 previously.
Fort Wayne coming up?
nice ride on route 41 at beginning... i think that is the LONGEST highway in the USA that runs north-south direction? Copper Harbor Michigan to Miami Florida?
Second longest. U.S. 1 is the longest north-south
Looks like a fun rural drive.
They recently changed the control city between I-69 and I-64 Northbound to Indianapolis as of today.
Originally I-164, a spur route from I-64 into Evansville, redesignated when the I-69 project south from Indy started up again. Part of this into town will again be a spur when the new I-69 is finished into Kentucky soon.
I-64 missed Evansville. There was no other city of more than 100,000 population that had an Interstate built so close but not through it or through its suburban exterior. It was a huge fumble by Indiana and by Evansville's leaders. The state could have built its portion of the Louisville to Saint Louis stretch of I-64 a little bit northward to go by the resort town of French Lick, or a little bit southward to go by Evansville.
The state took the middle route which goes by no significant city, leaving Evansville lost for many decades (it was so hard to go to it by car, until I-164, now I-69, was finally built.), and leaving the long thriving resort of French Lick economically slumping. At least both cities have recovered and are doing better, but leave it to Indiana politicians to have no vision.
18:00 IN 64 shields 🤣
By the way as of 8/6/2024 they completed and opened this stretch from Evansville to 465 in Indianapolis and it’s now concurrent with 465 along the south and east sides of Indy towards the start of it’s original segment in Castleton on the northeast east side of Indy
I'm from Louisville, and it's kinda hard to believe that Evansville, a city in Indiana, is further south than Louisville, a city in Kentucky.
I surprised the speed limit was 60
US 30 between Fort Wayne and Chicago gets more traffic than this. yet is a deathtrap.
Just as expected - NO mention via signage of Mt. Vernon, IN, Port of Mt. Vernon or USI. Terrible signage job by INDOT!
God help anyone that has to live in that boring hell hole. 😂
