For things like volumetric light and fog I wish Corona would allow for GPU rendering of those elements. I get the whole "CPU render is more accurate" but for such cases accuracy is not the problem. Absurd render times are the problem. I know a ton of people will be switching to other engines like UE5 if things stay stale with Corona. A hybrid render solution is absolutely adamant in my opinion.

I think, with all due respect, that it's about time that Corona allows for hybrid rendering that utilizes both CPU and GPU in the render pipeline. For things like volumetric calculation, light scattering, etc, making use of GPU would be incredible. I know it is a big shift, but in light of where the industry is pushing, I really don't see how render engines can exist by only using one type of hardware for rendering., especially when it's the slower variant (CPU) and real-time (or near real-time) rendering is achievable with near identical quality to CPU render.
I love Corona in general, but one of the main reasons I often consider switching is due to how little of my PC's total performance is being utilized, and how much productivity I am missing out on. My 4080 is just sitting at idle, at most it can be used for elementary denoising, but knowing all that computational power is simply sitting unused, hurts. Especially when many other engines allow for GPU utilization, and when I compare to productivity in an engine like Unreal 5 for example, it's getting harder and harder to justify paying for- and using Corona in the future.
I love the intuitive nature of Corona and how it integrates directly into Cinema 4D, but when the alternative is both free to use, and also has a superior asset library and much better performance workflow, I can't see myself sticking with Corona if things don't change soon.

Saying "complaints are ungrateful" is a dodgy phrasing when we are literally paying for the product - while competition is offering more for free. Keep in mind there are reasons people complain, and if a lot of people are complaining then it's a clear indication that major things are being overlooked. General performance and gpu utilization is a big issue as the whole industry is shifting towards optimized real-time rendering for high workflow productivity. Here Chaos is stuck in the past by only using CPU and not investing into GPU hybrid rendering.

It seems to me that at some points they went too far with AI. Glass vase 0:59. Curvature of the space in front of the car 0:51.
Guys, you are a pro, let's do cool :)

    Sad...
More and more I realize than after this "merger" Corona gradually and deliberately has becoming less and less stable, slower and worst with each new release. Now Vray is more like Corona at its peak.
Corona remains unstable, laggy and so terribly slow.
ps. I'm user of 3ds max 2024, and material editor there became faster for all engines, not only for Corona :D

Sorry you feel that way :( I am not sure why you think we would deliberately sabotage our software; any bugs you find are exactly that, bugs, that are not planned to be there. You can see in the release blogs just how many bugs and issues we fix with each release. For remaining issues you are experiencing, please report the specific problems to us and we will look into them, forum.corona-renderer.com/index.php?board=2.0 for 3ds Max or forum.corona-renderer.com/index.php?board=36.0 for Cinema 4D. All the best, Tom

The only thing that matters to me. Corona being a processor-based engine forever.
I didn't like the new vantage that Chaos released. Making everything easier will reduce the market and cause children to enter this business...
There are already gpu-powered render engines that produce enough ridiculous renders!!!!

You'll be happy to know that Corona will remain CPU based :) Thanks! Tom

@@ChaosCorona Thank you. I knew it wouldn't upset us CPU investors. We will continue to stay in Corona.

What is that mentality??? "More kids will enter" and so what? Are you afraid they will do a better job than you? Having gpu hybrid render is literally only a benefit. Ignoring it and staying CPU based will be Corona's downfall eventually.. Sad to see some people actively oppose progress like this.
