Gamma is the derivative of delta.Meaning, it's the slope, or rate of change, of delta. A steep slope is scary to ski down. The bunny slope is fairly gentle.

I bought a 0DTE, 1OTM, QQQ put 30 min before close for $0.38. NQ was basing above 11668.75. When it broke below that base line and the contract went ITM the premium spiked. I sold it at $0.67 10 min before close. Right after I sold, price was still flushing and the contract hit $1.47. That would have been 280ish%, the difference was maybe 15 seconds ...lol. This is was all watching bookmap for selling pressure and I was very confident support would break. The contract ended up going to $1.68 after a little pullback and before going to zero shortly after. I had to do it after watching this vid. It was fun for sure... Your awesome Adam ... Gratitude. Now who buys these contracts moments before they expire, who did I sell to?
People who want equal but opposite leverage, or who sell as a hedge, or who sells as a part of a larger strat, like a spread or condor.

I like to start my "campain" around 30-60 days DTE, example delta neutral (short butterflies), the important thing is to then "dynamicly delta hedge" daily your delta and buying power if needed (you check once a day, dont adjust too often). While doing this, you will gain from the extrinsic value (theta) daily...then you can possible get closer to 0dte (when theta gains increase, at the money, gamma too), but becuase you have already "booked" X amount of days worth of extrinsic, usually one is already up on gains, now can possible afford for bigger move against you when gamma is bigger while your best scenario is to dance the last days under the butterfly "tent"..or, if outside already locked in profits at least on one side (up or down from the tent).

I got a Jan2024 LEAPS that is -53% and the underlying is very close to the strike. I was thinking of either averaging down, cutting my losses & sell, or let it ride out

Not gonna lie made 20% gains of my entire account today playing 0DTE Tesla calls, only held for 2 or 3 minutes. I feel bad about it because I shouldn't have risked so much but I had the craziest feeling that Tesla was about to rip and it did so I sold immediately. I don't mind playing a few TQQQ calls/puts on Friday but Tesla 0DTE are crazy man. I went to sell at 3.05 and while placing my sell order they ripped to 3.25. They moved 20 bucks in a few seconds.
If I would have held for another hour I would have been up 100% lol 0DTE options are crazy and scary but when you hit one it can be a real banger for your account.
Keep making videos bro doesn't matter what they are about or how long they are we all love seeing you we all support and your brother just remember take everything one day at a time.

@@Devinelligan Started buying cheap $267.5 calls at 8:44 at $2.77 and again at 8:44 (lol) doubled down at $2.45 and sold all at 8:45 at $3.25 a piece. I thought I held for longer but I guess I didn't looking at the statements. Crazy, that shows you that the same minute I started buying each contract lost $32 and then almost rocked up $100. I was buying because Tesla likes to go above or below the max bollinger band in the first 15 minutes and then have some price correction and the QQQs were holding up so I figured it would flip to the upside even if just for a minute which it did.
@@notleeland Maybe but unlikely since as mentioned that was not my usual strat. I saw an opportunity where Tesla's price was below the lower Bollinger band and bought and sold when it came back up within on a 2 minute chart.
I am up 118% for the month of September and the previous three months averaged 20% per month. I have been almost 100% cash since February and just try to scalp 1% my total portfolio everyday hence the average of 20% a month for the last three months. Lately I just short overbought and buy oversold and it worked quite well for September when doing that during regular hours with no catalyst just following price action.

I keep getting assigned way OTM leap puts and don't understand why, shouldn't it be super rare?
Meaning I sell one leap put and after a few days I get assigned 100 shares payed a lot more than the current price.
the sum of the premium I have been payed for the puts plus the current value of the shares doesen't really add up to the cost of the shares I got assigned but it's close.
What do you make out of this? Besides that I'm gonna stay out of leaps from here onwards
How far OTM are they relative to their strike price?
@@InTheMoneyAdam they were around double the price when I opened them, now triple. You reckon is it too much? The thing is that the more OTM you go the higher the premium over margin requirement ratio. Thanks!
What’s the ticker, strikes, days assigned, and credits received for each option?
@@InTheMoneyAdam 3 TSLA Jun '24 puts, strike 600 and premium was around 300. 2 TSLA Jan' 25 puts, same strike and premium at around 370. This happened in two separate occasions last week, prob 5 days apart. Maybe it has something to do with liquidity, but the Jun '24 are pretty liquid, or someone knows something.
Basically someone, I don't think a retail investor, most probably a market maker (because it was two separate occasions and leaps opened far a part from one another) exercised their right to sell shares ~20 months in advance from expiry in one case and more than 24 in the other. Completly neglecting the fact that they could sell their options. Not the best way to find out about a corner case.

it’s me, i’m people. I trade 0dte, successfully, too. But the trick is to be a seller, not a buyer. Sell those 0.05 delta calls/puts and that’s it
How do you decide on whether to go C/P on the day? Also do you trade high liquidity stocks, or index funds? I see a lot of SPX trading because of the liquidity and size of contracts, but when I committed to that for about a month I couldn’t figure out what I was doing wrong and why my losses wiped out my wins.

I use to trade this, but I stopped due to the high level of commissions. If you could trade this with little to no commissions it can be profitable. With $9.99 Per Contract, you will lose money. Made 100k doing this but 90k went to my broker leaving me with 10k. Stopped trading like this after 3 months.
Are you in the US? TD Ameritrade is $0.65 per contract
@@InTheMoneyAdam Nope Canada. Interactive brokers would be the only Broker that would offer the lowest commissions. But used another broker QuestTrade during this "experiment" 4.95 PER side + 0.75 per contract per side all in USD. Hard to make money with these commissions. So I paid roughly 75$ - 150$ Per side in commissions and traded multiple times per day. Broker probably loved me.
