The factory antenna can save you from damaging your roof/windshield in low ceiling situations especially if your Jeep is lifted, proceed with caution when you hear that ping.
Thx for the video. I’m a new Jeep owner so I found this very helpful.
You bet and thanks for watching. What are you going to do first?
Awesome! Thanks!
Very well put together video. Good info.
Thanks Kevin!
Nice video! Thanks for sharing!!!
My pleasure! 🇺🇸
Great list, thanks. Hoping to have my JL before the new year.
It’s a good time to buy with the 2019’s coming soon. You can’t go wrong with the JL 🇺🇸
Did you get it?
Although the look of the stock radio antenna may not be great it is useful as a height gauge when going into underground parking garages. (Don't ask how I know.)
Ray Barrick very nice 😀
That red Rock bumper you put on. Why did you take off the Rubicon steel bumper and got this red Rock?
Great video very well done 👍🏻
I appreciate the compliment and thank you for watching! 🇺🇸
No problem man. Look forward to seeing new videos. Let me know if I can do anything to help
Will do and likewise!
What bumper is that?
Short and sweet cheap and easy things you can do to your Jeep Wrangler JL 🇺🇸
What was the name of the 2inch lifts that you mentioned ? the video kinda broke up when you said the name.
Budget boost
Was the red jack under $200 mounted on front bumper?
The side view pic of your Rubicon at 5:41 in this video -- 1. is that with a lift and if so what? and 2. are those 35" or 37" tires? Thank You
Chris Schmauch any time! This is with the ReadyLift SST lift which is 2.5” in the front and 2” in the rear. The tires are 37 x 12.5 R17 Firestone Destination M/T2’s. The lift and tires are the same in all my videos so far, although I will be installing a 3.5” lift and new shocks soon.
How did you mount the high lift to the bumper? Love to get the details....
Lori Kinser hi Lori, I actually have a video that explains it. I used the light tabs on the bumper
Now that you have that jl payment. Fml such a true sentence.
Life is choices, and getting a jeep isn’t the worst one 😀
Do you have the link to the mirrors?
I've done a cb install for under 90 bucks by buying a used cb that I knew was well maintained
Luke Schwierzke nice job! What a great way to get a quality product and save some dough 👍🏼
Well done lady.
I didn’t think rhino made roof racks for the JL is it modified where did you get that I needed it!!
Rhino doesn’t make a full solution, but Maximus-3 makes the brackets and also provides the Rhino Pioneer platform with it. I got mine through Northridge 4x4 but you can also order directly from Maximus-3. Mine is the long rack-they also have a short one. 300 pound dynamic weight limit and 900 pound static-not bad!
Good stuff, sub #375 :)
Rich Beach very nice, thank you Rich!
Could you offer a link for the sharper image chiller heater unit I haven been able to find that item.
I can’t find it either. Maybe it is not longer available. Here is another similar item: www.amazon.com/Cooluli-Fridge-Electric-Cooler-Warmer/dp/B01G7IL3BS/ref=mp_s_a_1_5?adgrpid=55466435425&gclid=Cj0KCQjw6KrtBRDLARIsAKzvQIFrN-IofSw4pieOm3ypl9zFyf88x4Al1oUh-nVSkKBu78HKm0yp1X0aAlhQEALw_wcB&hvadid=274898352601&hvdev=m&hvlocphy=9024139&hvnetw=g&hvpos=1t1&hvqmt=e&hvrand=11496619086257814023&hvtargid=aud-647006051489%3Akwd-295583661009&hydadcr=12187_9467455&keywords=12+volt+car+fridge&qid=1571484043&sr=8-5
Save up money n get a lift n wheels, don’t waste money on making ur car look “better“ with lil things , it’s a Jeep ... it’s beautiful , if u buy lil things for ur Jeep u might end up being a mall crawler , again save up money get a lift and 35 wheels and u will end up on trails 💪🏻 oh and two more things : wave and never ever mod ur GRILL that one stay original ! olllllllo
I’m a 3 Jeeper gen and counting 💪🏻
hEcToR pRiEtO sage advice
I'm very keen on using the two lighting tabs on my bumper hoop like you did. But the mount you show at 2:50 doesn't appear to be the one that is actually installed?
Hmm, did you just cut off the longer wings?
Vance Macdonald I used the bottom part of the universal mount shown along with the bolts and wing nuts to mount the lift. The other riser pieces can be used to mount to the roof rack or other spots.
How are those wheel spacers holding out ? In need of a pair so I can get my 35s to clear thanks hope to here from you.
Matt_ward101 the spacers are doing great. I am at about 7K miles now and half a dozen off road trips. They haven’t budged and are doing the job perfectly. If you would like to order, use the code AMJEEP10 at checkout through Poly Performance and get 10% off. www.polyperformance.com/synergy-hub-centric-wheel-spacers

Thanks!!!!
Matt_ward101 any time! Let me know how it goes 👍🏼
Thank you for the video! what roof rack do you have on your car? - looks awesome!
What size spacer are you running in this video?
BajaMedic they are 1 5/8” spacers from Synergy MFG, now off the Jeep and sitting in my garage!
@@AmericanJeeper why did you take the spacers off? Problems?
What size tires are those
The tires are 37 x 12.5 R17 Firestone Destination M/T2’s. They are the best tires that I have ever had between four Jeep Wranglers on and off road. Highly recommend 👍🏼🇺🇸
Hi, wich brand is that roof top ?
The roof top tent is by Roost USA
So as far as the mirror goes in Louisiana you have to have a mirror on the out side of the jeep on the left side I got me a old motorcycle mirror and bolted it in the door hinge when the doors are off verry cheap if you can find a motorcycle Mechanic shop with a bunch of leftover mirrors
Sounds like good ole American ingenuity 👍🏼
Probably get those frame welds tightened up
Sage advice 🇺🇸👍🏼
Do have any regrets not getting a model with LED group or not adding it?
If I did it again, I would have gotten the LED package from the factory. It is the one regret I have at this point with the purchase, but I plan to add them in the future. 🇺🇸
Good to know thanks! I plan on by my JLUR this upcoming spring!
That’s exciting! Sometimes aftermarket does it better, but the general consensus of the Jeep community is that the factory LED’s are worth the $900 and better/cheaper than any other option. Good luck with your new Wrangler and thank you for watching!
Thanks for the info. Keep up the great content!
Sebastian Glenn you bet 🇺🇸
I wouldn't recommend a Hi-Lift for a newbie Jeeper beyond anything but looks. Those things will kill you if you don't know what you're doing. Even experience off roaders will tell you that they either don't have a Hi-Lift or rarely use it to the point that the looks are the only real justification.
But beyond that, good list.
Thank you Rick! I agree that the hi-lift can be very dangerous and nothing to play around with. It my my absolute last resort after the bottle jack and scissor jack. I envision a more likely use is for recovery in the event of a winch failure while wheeling solo, which happening together I would say are pretty unlikely. Like all tools, firearms, vehicles, etc. the user owns the responsibility of learning the ins and outs of it as well as upside and potential dangers. Appreciate you watching 🇺🇸
Most everything newbie Jeepers have is for looks anyway, including the Jeep.
J Smith can be, unless people come from off roading other vehicles and know what they are getting into
Don't overdo on the stickers. Do like 4 or less. An American flag sticker on each side.
Michael Weston Are you the Jeep Sticker Police?
1:15 NEVER GET SPACERS!! Its not a matter of how safe they are, its the fact that you will need to replace your wheel bearings in 5,000 to 10,000 miles with spacers.
Any mods that would give the JL some more power that doesnt cost 7K
Maybe exhaust or one of the tuners. Other than that hemi baby
Those are accessories not “MODS”
I agree this is a widely debated gray area. It all depends on who you ask I guess 😀
Do you have a link for that front bumper?
www.extremeterrain.com/redrock-4x4-crawler-stubby-front-bumper-w-winch-mount-2018-jl.html?XT%20Bumpers%20-%20Stubby%7CRedRock%204x4&T5_Var4=J116324-JL&intl=0&XTW+Wrangler+Vehicle+Medium&dialogtech=ppc&T5_Var2=shopping&T5_Var3=orange&gclid=Cj0KCQjwr4beBRDNARIsAGZaZ5evioYgSWU4Tt7gJzVDryFLQKs0NmwnIMmp2mo6cv8_a12-GhYlLSoaAvzKEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds
Joshua Planas Extreme Terrain has a ton of great bumpers for the JL. Many are actually JK bumpers rebranded because the front bumpers have identical mounting points. Some of the fog light mounts don’t fit exactly, but this one was easy enough to make work. 🇺🇸
Still waiting for power locks to be an addition if the JL doesn't have it
1ukfan1 almost every JL will have power locks, unless you get a base model sport
Yes I have the base. Probably no money to be made to release it.
1ukfan1 I would think not, but someone still may do it
Wheel spacers are for mall crawlers. Bring them out on a challenging trail and good luck.
Cool video, but I almost had to listen to it muted, sounds like your mic is in your esophagus.
That’s an amusing image! Thank you for watching and appreciate the heads up in that. I’ll make sure and be more mindful of sound in future vids. 🇺🇸
Y cb when h can just use ur phone
Paymus Taylor lots of places have spotty or no cell coverage. I would definitely prefer the phone if it could be counted on
@@AmericanJeeper oh ok bro
Paymus Taylor some organized Jeep events like Jamborees require CB’s too for communication and safety.
Use that $200 to fix the faulty welds on the front suspension so you don’t crash driving your new $50k Jeep, just sayin.
mario spencer it’s pretty wild, isn’t it. Don’t get me started on how that got by QC. At least the situation is out in the open and being addressed.

American Jeeper hello. I am new. What is the red bar on your bumper?
Hi Pablo, this is called a hi-lift jack. It has several uses for recovery off road. Thank you for watching!
But thats more than $200 sir😂😂😂
The cost after all the mods you mention is thousand of dollars not 200$ !!!
Each mod is under $200, not all of them added up.
Oof... Halogens
Exactly. Why they are even an option in 2018 is beyond me. Definitely a regret not getting the LED option 🇺🇸
WHy would you go cheap when u already have money to spend on lift and wheels.
Jane Smitherson nothing wrong with saving a little money, and cheap isn’t always the same as inexpensive. I have paid a lot for “cheap” and gotten a great dearly on inexpensive items. A lot of people want to start modifying their Jeep but aren’t sure where to begin, so this has some good options. Thank you for watching 🇺🇸
Lol did you seriously make stickers number 5 on the list? What a joke
dennylafoss I have learned a long time a go that you can’t win them all and some are hard to please.😀 It is unbelievable how many people customize their Jeeps with stickers and decals. These are cheap mods...did you get any good ideas?
