I remember watching this episode when it first premiered, I got such deep chills when the lipstick was revealed to be a bottle of Vicodin and House realized he was still hallucinating. The fear in his eyes was actually heartbreaking, we had never seen him so weak and broken up until this point. Hugh Laurie absolutely killed it
*It was oxycodone. So House technically quitted vicodin

@@thaprablem I'm going to assume John Doe's post what in jest, but yours I can't. You get addicted to opioids. Not oxycodone. Not hydrocodone. Opioids. Oxycodone is an opioid. Hydrocodone is an opioid. Vicodin is just a brand of hydrocodone. They're all pretty much the same thing. It's the equivalent of an alcoholic who usually drinks vodka switching to whiskey. It doesn't mean you've kicked the habit nor stepped it up a notch. You've just changed the flavor slightly.
@@chitlitlah oxycodone is significantly stronger than hydrocodone, which is why I said it was more wild-it was a small detail I hadn’t caught, but still significant because it conveys how much more in pain House was with losing both Kutner and 13. I understand it’s general opioid addiction and wasn’t disparaging the fact that Vicodin use still falls under opioid addiction, but I appreciate your clarification.

No you can't, you can hear some of the cheap plastic moving a bit on the lid of the lipstick. Pills don't sound anything like that.

After all that the delivery, both from the actor and from the script, was absolutely perfect, in no way you expect all that to be hallucination, especially using his (complicated) love for Cuddy just to crush everything and also use his guilt about Amber and Kutner to deliver the final blow...

It took me a decade to realize that Greg Yataines was a producer and director in both House AND Banshee… two of my favorite television series. I guess it all just came full circle… dude is brilliant.
This is such a well done episode. I'm glad they included the scene introducing that the patient has split brain, and the debate about the right brain's value in recognition and where you are in the universe. The patient's thematic resonance is understated but soooo good

Wilson is the best friend/foil/judge/enabler/conscience. Genius writing acted by an excellent actor just makes the interactions and conversations between them so meaningful. Wilson isn't perfect either or he wouldnt be divorced and having trouble with his own relationships... which makes House's fixation on breasts and butts more amusing than offensive. Its his way of complimenting a woman, even though it's "look, but don't touch".

Cuddy is attracted by House because he will hurt her. She does a move because she is comforted by the fact that she's her boss, thus conserves a certain balance and authority and that won't allow her to be hurt. If she didn't have that balance, she wouldn't be attracted to him

no, most of this episode actually happens. his case & his team, his interactions with wilson and cuddy in the finale are all real. house detoxing and sleeping with cuddy the episode before WAS a hallucination, and he hallucinated the lipstick in his pocket, but everything else that happens this episode is real (though people speculate whether or not wilson telling house to terrorize cuddy was a hallucination because it's out of character for him)

As a left handed person with 3 siblings, 3/4 of us are all lefties. None of our parents were left handed, and 3/4 of us are half siblings. My grandma even tried to make me right handed when I was a baby by taking things out of my left hand and putting them in my right hand because she was superstitious. I wonder if there is any significance to it like what are the odds of that.

Dude detoxing from opiates takes WAY longer than " I've been clean for ALMOST twenty-four hours"... Try about three weeks to a month of wanting to die, but not being able to, that's more accurate.

About 10 days ago i watched a video on this chanel. Then, i watchen afew more. Now i am rewatching Dr House currently season 5 episode 12.
House is an a hole for playing with cuddys feelings, also rewatching Dr House made me depressed bc House treats chase, foreman, taub and 13 so badly.
House just makes everyone miserable, even wilson which pissed me off so much. Its getting to a point where he makes the person watching, you, miserable.
Also if you havent watched Dr House before, you should stop watching this chanel there are many spoilers.

As much as I love this show from the deep bottom of my heart, the story did truly peaked and waned poorly as soon as Trudy and House became a couple.
Resolving at last the long-brewing s*xual tension between the binome had for consequence to make House somehow... _civilized_ . But there certainly must have a reason why Irene Adler get written off and d%ed in the Sherlock Holmes novels, and much ironically allowing to an American Holmes such as House from finding a semblant of solace with his own Irene Adler make him less captivating as this antiheroic, Byronian, world-weary anticonformist genius.
😆why is he in oncology and not psychology and why is oxytocin the best drug ever? 😄 since the pandemic people should know what oxytocin does...the best answers get a like and maybe an emoji
