logano and suarez were out front because they gambled and didn't pit and stayed out on old tires and had to save fuel. bell pit and had to make up time to catch up. Logano got help from his teammate blaney earlier in the run helping him pass suarez and get more time on bell and by the end bell didnt have time and logano got very lucky and made the right call
That was't really luck for Joey. That was experience. His car was extremely fast on long runs but slower on restarts. In the playoffs everyone is very aggressive so there are going to be a lot of wrecks and restarts most likely. Joey wasn't going to beat Bell with speed. So strategy was his only chance. Joey's teammate Blaney was already too far behind to win so he was available to block Bell and to push Joey. When you were shouting at him to get out of the way he was doing his job. Joey was the youngest Nascar driver ever to win a race. He started driving Cup cars as soon as he turned 18. Staying out and winning on saving fuel was his only shot today and he took it.
Yeah that’s a terrible reason. Just putting it on luck takes away the skill of the whole crew. Let’s say bell won and we all said the only reason he won was because of Larson had a bad pit stop so it was luck.
The thing is, that flip looks dramatic but it really isn’t that bad of a wreck, it’s just kind of shocking to see. A barrel roll or catchfence crash is a bit scarier but nobody really gets seriously hurt from a flip by itself
You should take the word deserved out of your vocabulary. He didn’t win. That’s how it is. Clearly logano won and hence Joey deserves the win. Technically none of these drivers deserve anything it’s earned and Joey earned that one. Bell came up short it happens. @@jordandrye350 yes I do hate logano but in general this is my frustrations with the playoffs they don’t make sense, it doesn’t reward anything there’s no prestige, this isn’t the way to determine a champion in auto racing of any kind of nascar insists on a post season at least go back to the pre 2014 format that was at least like a normal points system and not this stupidity of a format that we currently have
