    One of the best things about those times was how it brought people together. There was no sense of division by class or race and it felt like we were a part of a special tribe. Everyone was united through a love of the music, dancing, fun and having experienced this, its saddening to think a movement like this may never happen again in my lifetime.

      @Daniel Thompson yeah dam right they were, but sadly those days are long gone, i see alot of students fully clothed in 80s and 90s clothes and even have the hair styles, its good to see in a way, its like they are paying there respects to our generation, or are they trying to relive the 80s/90s ? Maybe they realise how shit these times are ?

      @@barrybradshaw7925 exactly. Many can't remember this aspect of this time. I pointed this out a while back to someone on here, the amount of people that had been lost due to this, but most seem to have forgotten. The e's started being cut with heroin as well? Good times but worth it?...who knows.

      @@zamiadams4343 Thanks for all the comments! I had no idea about them. I was sadly not here at this time since I was like erm 8 lol. I did however start in 1995 or so and I can say that Raves were still great, until about 2002 or so when for whatever new forms of rave music seemed to stop being invented and I think DubStep is awful which is where it seemed to mostly end.
      For me though everything was ruined by mobile phones, I started to see it, everyone holding their phones up trying to record whatever shit footage they could, people stood in the corner on their phones. The atmosphere was starting to get lost. And then well, CDs and MP3s came along and everyone was collecting rave music to listen too at home, and then youtube came where we can watch all these for free, and then Covid...
      I was glad I grew up in the 80s and 90s and I do feel sorry for the youth of today, not just because raves are not as good as they used to be, but just everyone really, locked like zombies in their phones with 15 second clips on tiktok.

      drugs are now better than they ever were. It's a bit a myth perpetuated by nostalgic ravers, you can't really recreate the feeling of the honeymoon period of drugs when you are young. We won't see anything like the acid house explosion again, because it was a new mass-movement. There is still plenty of good rave culture if you get into the scence

    I am 53 now from Australia and used to go to lots of outdoor raves. One famous one in Victoria is called Earthcore. I remember dancing whilst the sun was coming up and experiencing such a real feeling of harmony and peace with everyone else. I do love the EDM of today as well and would love to go to some of the huge outdoor raves they have now but i feel too old and out of place. One thing i noticed is that today the kids all face the dj and focus on them whilst looking through their phones. I dont know how they are living in the moment when they are all trying to get the best shot. However they all have smiles on their faces and are enjoying it all. I just want to go to one of them before i get way too old lol.

    Absolutely devastated I was born in 92 and not 1970 ...would of been sumat else these , not like today’s repetitive , 2 step , staring at the DJ with your phone out bollocks

    • @mumblerocks77
      @mumblerocks77 4 года назад +5

      This can happen again. We already have enough people interested in dance music, we need no phone rules and promoters who support local DJ's that know how to play more than just "bangers". Post COVID times are gonna be different, we can revive this energy.

    • @drdickhead9656
      @drdickhead9656 7 лет назад +1

      wow, he's really quite bad! i mean, beatmatching is an essential skill to dj successfully. did nobody notice back then?

    • @norepetitivebeats
      @norepetitivebeats 7 лет назад +11

      There is no transition going on at 2:20, what are you talking about? If you actually knew anything about dance music history you would know that the Dj is Eddie Richards, probably one of the best DJs around.

    • @dunsmoregaines4239
      @dunsmoregaines4239 2 года назад

      @@norepetitivebeats Yeah he spent time on the pitch, rolling the record with fingers over baseline, resetting letting it go and repeat until he had it. He was matching.
