I met Geoff about 35 years ago. Still the same super nice guy. Good to see he hasn't changed much. He makes a great banjo and picks a great banjo, too. Thanks for sharing this. Most enjoyable.
Purchased my first Stelling. A Red Fox. I've owned Deerings, Gibsons, even a Yates which is incredible. All great, all different. The Stelling is different again. But in a unique way, a way that I like, a way that fits like a glove. The finish is flawless, the frets silky, fast and accurate, the neck, nut width just right. When you pick up an instrument for the first time it speaks back, sometimes a little shy, but when it almost plays itself you know you're there.
@@pennporterfield643 If I knew I'd be playing with other guitarists/musicians, I take the John Grey long neck open back, for solo bluegrass it would be the Gibson RB250 Greg Rich. Two different instruments really. (Such a dilemma!!)
When you hear a good Stelling, nothing sounds like it. Not all Stellings are superior, but the good ones can't be beat. I play a Huber, but I like the Stellings better. Jeff and I have something in common. we were both Navy airplane mechanics. I have torqued a lot of those props myself.
Merlyn Schutterle Yeah I’ve got huber and a prewar conversion. The Stelling will put perform those anytime. Stelling need head tuned to an A note that’s were they will get amazing tone.
A nice guy with a true passion for excellence. Hats off to Geoff.

I don't know how I missed this! Thank you for posting...Geoff is a true legend! I am blessed to have 3 of his banjos 🙂
This depicts a real person. I love these. No drama.

I wish he'd make a new banjo here and there. But I guess everyone needs to retire at some point. lol
