      @makedragon I was thinking _'I bet there are people on sites like Etsy that use that and similar products.'_ With enough attention, it could absolutely pay for itself after a while, especially since (aside from the metal blanks) it doesn't consume resources like ink, or plastic or metal material like 3D printers. I've definitely seen small shops on Etsy that offer both their own designs and engraving services.
      That cat was unreal though. I wonder if it required the depth data that some phones (namely iPhones) can offer though, to get that detail, or if if the software is just using AI to do that? The former would probably result in much finer accuracy, but the latter would be more accessible.
      I'm no expert, but if I were them I'd have put electrical tape or something on the etched phone's cameras. I'd be paranoid about some stray laser light zapping the sensor, even if it's unlikely.

      Yes a straight up legendary way to lose your sight. A 60W fiber laser. Oh yeah fiber lasers just burn off your retina, there's no recovering like with CO2 lasers. It's also false advertisement since it's never class one lest you don't turn it on. And don't even get me started on the ablating and vapourizing of metals and how fun hexavalent Chromium is. There's a reason metal cutting lasers come with sophisticated filters. It's insane that such a thing is even allowed to be sold online.

    As someone who works in manufacturing and uses an industrial laser engraving machine daily idk how safe that one is. The amount of fumes. Debris these things put off is wild. Ours literally has a vacuum and filtration system. And a whole inclosed work space that has a safety shield door that comes down with special glass to protect your eyes and we still have to wear safety glasses when using it. Mean while this one was just sitting on your couch fully exposed lol. You can literally see the fumes and debris come off the coin as you made that necklace. I’d be cautious with that thing.

      Arun is climbing up the ladder on becoming the worst reviewer on youtube. He literally uses the products for as long as the video lasts and tells his judgement on his first trial. He over acts, which is becoming very obvious. Like when he reviewed clicks, he literally slapped the product on his phone, Clicked some buttons, weighed the product and landed on the conclusion that the product sucked. When he reviewed products for camping. He looks like a person who doesn't even go out on the park let alone considering himself to be fit for reviewing camping products. Like, you are such a huge youtuber who has a massive reach. I am not telling you to stop making these types of videos, at least make it responsibly. We enjoy such videos but take your time doing so. With this xcutter.. who cuts a product like that. You forced yourself to reach the inner contents of the box while cutting it and let not talk about the ink marker part of it. You look foolish bro. I'm sorry for conveying my opinions but these types of videos just give such feelings. Just come to the reality that it's okay to not review the product even though it falls under the tech category.. sometimes you are not just qualified enough. It's okay. and God bless you

    In my experience there are only 2 things worth backing on Kickstarter:
    1) Products that are pretty much done, and is just an advanced pre-order. Things like boardgames, and that UGREEN NAS platform.
    2) Campaigns ran by people/companies who've already delivered products on Kickstarter, or other similar platforms.

      @richardbottom9843 Well, kinda. But in all honesty, anyone that can afford to hand over extra money to projects on Kickstarter and related platforms should also be okay if shit goes down hill and they end up getting scammed. The problem is, there are *a lot* of *financially irresponsible* people that decide to hand over money they can't really afford to lose. For the first group of people, that rule doesn't apply. For the second group of people, it absolutely does.

    • @jonevansauthor
      @jonevansauthor 9 months ago

      @knightwolf3511 I've got a box cutter with a plastic spike on it to penetrate stuff like tape and wedge into a crack, it's got a razor blade to do the actual cutting which you can't get your fingers near, and it cost about £3. They're readily available. So they had to beat that product which many thousands of people use, and failed. The blade is sharp enough that if you veer off the tape line it'll go straight through the card at the side and it can't harm the contents of the box. They clearly did no market research to find out if it was a solved problem.

  • @michel0dy

    How to cut open a box without cutting the contents?
    With a normal box cutter, one that you can get for cheap in any supply store, you can already control how much of the blade you have sticking out... you can just... leave the blade as small as possible so it only cuts through the tape and doesn't reach the contents of the box.

      Laser engravers like this have been around for 30 years, this is just a bad one, it's extremely dangerous and unsafe, laser engravers are all completely enclosed requiring you to have a fumehood or fan, this just exposes you to radiation. Horrible product.

21:40 bro, trust me, I’ve used hundreds of knifes and exactos to open boxes and plastic packages, there’s nothing better then a regular key! Any key will do but try to find one with more pointy end. It works better then anything cz it doesn’t damage the inside of the package and cuts trough scotch tape or plastic with just a bit of pressure. It doesn’t slide as easily as a knife but you always have it with you, no extra objects to carry, doesn’t damage your stuff and a bit of force not gonna kill you :) just make your first puncture in a safer place and then it glides easily trough the box.

    14:35 Just invert the watch strap. It's a flexible fabric, just flip it so its wrapping over the main watch face and you won't have to remove the puck and charge it via cable. Rigid straps won't work like that, for others sakes. Yours does though.

    • @darkhippo6222
      @darkhippo6222 9 months ago +2

      If it is a rigid watch strap it usually should have a clasp that you can open and then just put the watch on the charger
      Edit: ah, I see there are more rigid watch straps without clasp. For them you need the puck to be removed, so this feature is a good idea IMHO

    The way you should open a box to mitigate damaging the insides is;
    first cut both side tape seams, then prop the middle section up a few cm with your fingers in the side seam, then you can easily use a box cutter, or if you have to, a longer blade, and never damage the contents.

    • @MrAftermath21

    As for a box cutter, you only need to penetrate and cleanly cut the tape. 1mm should be enough. It's user error to cut the contents therein.
    A knife is variable: the amount of pressure applied. The angle. The amount that the blade protrudes from the base.

    • @joycongirl
      @joycongirl 9 months ago +21

    • @DirkJanFotografie
      @DirkJanFotografie 9 months ago +6

      The way you describe how to use that box cutter also applies to knives. I always use a knife and never cut things I’m not supposed to cut if I don’t slam it in deep and just penetrate the tape. For people who have a habit of slamming in a knife it would be better to get a 1-2mm long knife blade on a handle.

    The product you receive is always classed as a gift to say thank you for helping fund the research and production of said product.

    • @francismark1993
      @francismark1993 9 months ago +27

      Agreed but If it isn't buying, there should not be a product advertised in the exchange of money.
      Instead, they should be clear that it is an investment and provide a share because people are investing a small part of your success.
      Investments definitely don't pay out at times but advertising a product in a price range and not delivering a promise is worse than stocks going bad. The risk factor is explained during stocks unlike Kick starters.

    • @zivens.2407
      @zivens.2407 9 months ago +19

      The ToS makes it very clear that it's an investment platform, there's text at the bottom of every campaign that you're not guaranteed a product. People honestly just don't read, or they get spoiled on small projects that deliver and assume it's the same for larger concepts that might be scams.
      I suppose they could be more aggressive with flashing the text, but people tend to err on the side of just thinking they will have legal recourse despite the ToS being open about the opposite.
