  • Gleniff Barytes Mine Co 1888-1922. A old abandon mine in Glencarbury, Co. Sligo.
Facts: The barite was brought down to Tormore, close to Glencar Lough on the south side of the mountain by a cable car arrangement. The pylons and wire ropes running down the mountain side can still be seen. In the distance Crockauns summit can be seen. Elevation 426 metres (1397 feet)
Location: I suggest to park at Glencar Waterfall carpark. From there follow the road towards Sligo and take the first left to access the top of Dartry Mountains.
    Distance from Sligo: 12.7km (carpark)

I think you mean take the first on the right after the Glencar Car Park. If you headed towards Sligo and took the first left you would end up in the Lough.
