I have been printing 42 years and have seen lots of presses that were treated just like this NEW Heidelberg was with ink setting on the dam press along with the knife, rags stacked by each unit, dirty hands touching the press, that’s why in a very short time the press will look 10 years old and all kinds of problems with the press, TAKE CARE OF IT shit man. If you take care of the machine be it press/folder/cutter or anything in the shop, you do the maintenance when your supposed to your still able the run the hell out of it. It was almost every day I run at least 12,000 an hour most times 15,000 an hour and my press looked new till we sold it and got another. Always hated to take over a machine that was dogged and had ink all over it it showed the pressman didn’t give a dam and him boss let him get away with it.

Oh man I hear yeah,,ive been printing for 18 years now,,I'm in flexographic printing, the company I work for is owned by party city,so we print all the balloons,,I run there brand new press,few months old,,another person ran it on our shift and jyst didn't give a fuck about ink getting anywhere he was a complete slob for a pressmen,,long story short,he no longer runs the press because of his lack of house keeping,,so now I run it,,the company notices stuff like that and care for employees that take pride in there product they print,

Shoot we had an old chief, and GTO that had cigarettes burn mark on when the old timers would put out thier cigarettes out on all parts of the machine. Those guys would be wiping down a plate with whatever chemical, acetone or naptha in one hand, with a cigarette in the other. They would just throw the rags in the corner.😂
I never knew Tracy McDowell of Woodbridge,Connecticut when I was living in Phoenix Arizona year 2000 thru 2004. Someone made a mistake ( Connecticut 2005-2006)

year 2024. 31 years in graphic arts. :D even in screen process, the first thing you gotta learn is to be clean. even when we love the ink

Purchased a 74-6 from new, an unbelievable workhorse, we ran it from 12,000 to 15,000 sheets per hour...
I never ran 12K / hr. I don't know why, but my paranoid brain feeds with enough 5000 / hr. I've never have had issues with clients, time or queue.
