Hello, i hope you are good and healthy, i have a question, i will visit next month Istanbul, can u tell me how can i convert Euro to Lira and where? and can u tell me how can i learn the lines of the transport? please
what's the difference between yellow and blue machines ? I arrived at Ist airport but I DON'T have TL cash at all and i dont want to exchange within airport , Is it possible to buy 2 Ist cards at once paying with credit or debit Visa ?
Yellow machines do not offer any change but the blue machines provide change. Yes, credit/debit cards are accepted and you can buy any number of istanbulkart cards. But why do you want to buy 2 cards? You can buy a single card and recharge it and upto 5 people can travel with a single card. It’s better to buy 1 card. If you are more than 5 people, then only you should buy 2 cards. Note : 1 Istanbulkart card costs 120 TL
Hey! There is no direct public transport. 1. You can take a taxi. The distance is around 8 km. 2. You can take line 22 bus from Mimar Sinan University bus stop (frequency: every 15 mins). It will drop you to Ortakoy bus stop. From there, you need to walk to beylerbeyi palace, it’s around 1.2 kms. There are other buses also, but you need to switch atleast once.
What is the given time within one hour? I used it yesterday one fenecular and then tram it deduced 20 lira each time, today i used bus and then marmary it got deducted same and after that ferry and tram same happened, it was with in an hour.
When you say the same fare continue on a second mode of transport within a specified time, do you still tap your card on the second mode and you will not be charged?
Hi, just to check. If I travel from airport to our hotel , I will change metro at Gayareppe for the M2 to Yenikapy. Do I need to tap again when changing to M2 ? Thank you for your time😊
@@tomtrue9719 Hi, you need to tap again if you exit the metro station and enter again, as the machines are at the metro station entry gate. Once you are out, you need to tap in to get inside.
Very informative and up to date, thank you. I have a question at Sabiha airport ( SAW) , is there a ticket machine which accepts credit card as a payement instead of cash?
Hello! As per our information, there is no Istanbulkart machine at SAW airport. It’s only at IST airport. So if you’re traveling through SAW, you can get your cards from your hotel’s nearest metro or bus station.
Hi thanks for the info! I’m visiting Istanbul in a few weeks time. May I ask where is the machine located at the Istanbul (IST) airport? I’d like to get it upon my arrival
But for longer routes, you can still rely on public transport. Note : 1 Istanbulkart can be used by upto 5 people so you need to buy only 1 Istanbulkart. But yes, it will be charged for each person separately.
@@rohintonable Istanbul traffic is very bad. Specially in peak hours🙁 We had to take a looooong route to airport to reach on time. Otherwise we would have been stuck. Our flight was in evening. But in night, morning etc. we didn’t find that much traffic. We used taxis.

Hi! The amount deduction is based on the number of taps. If you switch metro/any public transport then you need to pay twice, otherwise same fare will continue, as in Istanbul, there is no tap-out, you just need to tap-in one time before starting the trip.
Hi, are we allowed to bring big luggages from airport into the public transport? I don’t want to use taxis as most of them tend to scam you from what I’ve heard
Yes taxis are a scam, even we faced a lot of issue when we called an uber. Language is a barrier. And yes, you can take big luggage from airport into public transport. There are designated areas also in public transport where you can keep your luggage. But, it’s better to either stand near that area where you kept the luggage or keep it next to you if you’re sitting, as you know, there is a chance of things getting stolen there. So better to be safe.
@@shahzaibhashmi165 Not sure cuz we didn’t use card for ticket purpose. We didn’t buy train tickets either, we used istanbulkart for everything. You can get an Istanbulkart through yellow vending machines, there is provision for card payment also.

I was in Istanbul last week and used the Istanbulkart. However, when transferring from the bus (the journey took about 40 minutes) to the metro, I had to tap the card again. Does the system recognize that it was part of the same journey if the transfer only took 10 minutes?
Hi! Here are few options you can check- 1. 10 Ride Transport Card : You can get it only at the IST Airport. It is valid for 10 rides for all modes of public transport. 2. City Card Travel Pass: It’s a one day pass for accessing all modes of transport. Note: These cards can be used by only one person at a time. You can check the type of cards and prices here : www.istanbulkart.istanbul/price-limit
