The term Galateo comes from the name of Bishop Galeazzo (Galatheus) Florimonte, who had suggested writing it. From the distant sixteenth century, that treatise has come a long way, enriched along the journey by many nuances and conventional ways that have influenced and oriented western culture.

More than 450 years have passed since the publication of Della Casa’s book, Galateo, and his words represent a style, a behavioral trend. The good manners to keep with fellow diners involve the daily life of each of us: a family lunch, a dinner with colleagues, a quick aperitif with friends, a romantic dinner, a ceremony, an event.
Some curiosities:
The toast, for example is made by raising the glass to the level of your face and extending your arm towards the celebrant, and looking the others in the eyes.
