The work environment is not as good as in Indian schools. Next 2-3 years government is planning to replace all foreign teachers with locals. So don't plan for the long term. And they started the work for that now. Each island with different school culture, different mentality of peers. different rent, different overtime scale, different chances of availability of groceries, etc., etc., need to adjust a lot in the first one year. After that only you are able to get into this Maldivian stream of education and life style. I got an offer later after Months after I got selected. If you are teacher for lower grades, managing students is difficult. If you are gr9,10 teacher, every 10th grade result is an acid test for us. Pros: school working time 6:40am-12:40pm. Salary will be credited correctly on the last working day of the month. All Friday Saturday holidays. All public holidays can be enjoyed. You can get more personal time. Some may enjoy some may get bored. one month annual leave with pay and flight tickets. These are the common things. Each and every other parameter depends on the island where you are going to get placed.
