I understand some of the smaller equations, but when it comes to multi step quations I fall so short, like this one 11x + 3=3x+35. What in the world? Please help! It also blows my mind to think 7th graders can do this stuff and me a grown woman is ready to pull my hair out of my hair.

I graduated with a degree in Automotive Technology, so albeit there is math involved in my field, most of it can be done with a simple opening of the calculator app. Although, I would say that if I became an engineer to design the motors that I instead repair, that would be a different story. So in conclusion, a fair response would be that it all depends on what you plan on doing. I will offer this advice though, don’t let it consume you. I live in a small town with a population of 11,000 people according to the 2018 census, I went to college for automotive technology because working on cars is my hobby and i’m completely in love with the culture of it, but being a small town resident people get into the 9-5 job mindset and have a hard time shaking it. After I graduated I started a business completely unrelated to automotives and quickly surpassed the yearly income of my graduating class with very little money borrowed and college being paid for by FAFSA. My point is, unless you are going into the medical field, try to work for yourself. And if that’s not possible because of financial reasons, continue to grow financially until you can. Theres so many ways to make money and not be chained to a 9-5, and high school tried to pound that into my thick skull as hard as they could. The future isn’t as scary as people make it out to be.

Consider: -5 + (-10). Think of the -5 as losing $5 and -10 as losing $10. If you have a loss of $5 and then add another loss of $10, you are now down $15. -5 + (-10) = -15
um not always you can have -7 then add 10 then you would get 3 and thats not negative i think you meant to say is when you multiply a positive with a negative you get a negative
