Back in the day, our bikes had 1 speed, and we loved them! Your current bike is pretty awesome! I wouldn't mind going back to the 80s. It was a time of prosperity and opportunity, and it was a marvelous time in history to be in your early adulthood! 😀
That's amazing that you can remember stuff clean back to 2 years old. I think my oldest memory is around 4. Not a darn thing wrong with still riding a bike. It's fun. 5 bucks sounds like quite a bit for that time period. Aww. Sad you didn't get it. Maybe that's why you have so many now. That's great that you guys got bikes and your sis got the typewriter. I bet that was a really merry Christmas. I'm sure you did beat the bus. All the stops, especially when in the country, takes a bus quite a bit of time. I didn't get to experience the 50s and 60s, but I know it was definitely a different time. That is one ugly duck! My parents definitely were far from rich, but I was a dang lucky kid. They spoiled me a lot. They did their best to always get me whatever I wanted. Generally, it would be for Christmas, but I don't feel like I was ever really deprived. Unfortunately for Jessie, all that spoiling got handed off to him 😂 He does a great job keeping up with it lol.
I can imagine how much it meant to you getting your first bike. Kids nowadays seem to get everything. I remember when I got my first bike. It meant such a difference being able to go off on my own. Your roads are perfect for cycling with very little traffic once you get off the main roads. 💜
