      A lot of people don't realize bottomless pockets means you can completely overwhelm somebody in the legal system on almost every level so they have to spend a crippling amount of time and or money dealing with your petty lawsuits. Put yourself in that position with any professional career. Most people just take the L and back down in the face of this kind of threat which happens regularly in the corporate world.

    I have coated titanium brackets, pins, and expanders in my lower spine due to a lower back injury when I was 24...just turned 48. I've often wondered about this kind of thing because I've been diagnosed with multiple auto immune disorders in the past 10-15 years. Most people in this guy's position probably wouldn't even be able to get a doctor to take his case.

    Her stance in the end isn't exactly a bad one to take. Yes it doesn't fix the root of the problem, but the FDA guidelines are still to blame as well due to the lack of more aggressive regulations. And she got the best deal for her patient.

    • @aureliaalessio
      @aureliaalessio Год назад +3

      She is definitely not to blame, because technically the companies are compliant to the regulations and thus their products are not illegal. The FDA is a regulator and cannot expect the market to regulate itself when it is FDA's job. Of course you'll find some companies using the guidelines literally, even though it is ruthless and horrible to place possibly malfunctioning devices in human body, but if those people were e.g. take this to court, the companies have strong evidence that even though the devices are hurting the people, they are not illegal. Tough life. USA citizens should really focus on having better regulations and representatives.
