As a literal carpenter i still have difficulty with diy projects and honestly wanna cry when stuff doesnt workout how i planned its nice to see someone be so transparent and the not doing laundry is so relatable. Loved this video and gonna try to make this for my backyard this summer :)

I admire your tenacity! - You had a vision and made it happen - I understand why you did the lawn, edging, and weed whacking - When we get one thing looking good we can't tolerate the no-so-good surroundings - Great job! - Your little girl is adorable and your husband is lucky to have you both.

I know I’m late seeing this video. Gosh I have to say, I’m only 12 min into it and u remind me so much of u! I’m gonna definitely keep this channel. It seems SO REAL! And here’s the story of my life: “work work work, as a mom and in the military for 8 years, always living gardening, things like in this video, and working. Now I’m 50 and have been disabled for 10 years now. : can’t do alot. I’m dying to just put some spring plants in a tiny flower container. Depression. Fun. Done”.
I don’t know how I did thing either when. Was younger but I did. As a single mom. But if that’s my peak in life then so be it! Thanks for ur honesty. 🙏♥️. We need more of that in the world today!!! Good for u!

I put two sails up over my patio, and I bought cheap pots and cut them out to fit over my poles, I cemented in the ground, it was a lot of work, but it paid off, will send you a PUC when its daylight don't have lights up yet, you can use a bracket on inside of your box and it should pull the corners together

I recently did a bedroom makeover on my own for my 7 year old son. I wont tell you how many days I spent in that room crying because what I had in my mind wasnt working, or something I thought was awesome fell apart or looked bad the next day. Thank for the very real makeover content! I think it turned out amazing.

This is the first video of yours that I’ve come across and while I understand what you meant by “I’m nothing special I’m just a girl with a camera” as someone with formal training in carpentry i just want you to know that we all have cameras, it takes chops to be creative, capture it and present it in a watchable way! Modesty is one thing but I’m giving you a lot more credit! The space looks great, I would feel like I’m on vacation every day! 🎉

Great Job, I love this video! I'm not sure if anyone has mentioned this quick tip but if for any reason in the future your planter boxes come apart try screwing your panels into pressure treated 2 X 4's cut to similar height in the corners of the planters, you can also cut the 2 X 4's a couple inches shorter if you don't want to see them up top. This will help make the structure stronger and help keep the dirt in the planters. Good luck with your future projects and keep up the great work!

You see how so many youtubers just do their DIY's and their is never a mistake, and you know that isnt the case. Thank you for being real with us. Thats one of the things that I love about your channel, how real and transparent you are. I like what you did with the surf board. I think its adorable.

You have given me so much inspiration and I wanted to give some back to you I am still doing DIY projects. Of course they are not as extensive as they have been in the past but I am still doing them. Completely laid ceramic tile the entire kitchen which was humongous I did the countertops and the backsplash and the flooring. That was about 10 years ago and I haven't done that much to date. It's great to see what you accomplished by yourself. It looks fantastic. God bless you and keep up the good work.

You can put a 2x4 on the inside corner of each planter, screw into those w longer screws and that will fix the issues. I'd also line the inside (not the bottom) with thick plastic to help keep wet soil off of the sides of the wood as much as possible, this can extend their life for a season or two. I attached mine w an electric stapler. Also be sure to measure/lay out any fabric, curtains, rugs ect before planning as they often kind of lie on the tag. For example a '5x7' rug may only be a generic term, the actual measurements may vary a few inches one way or the other.

Thanks for keeping it real, and sharing the realness! Just two things, on your flower box buy longer screws and that should fix your gap, and did drilling into your roof cause any issues when it rains, and did drilling into void your homeowners insurance policy on your roof?

Great job, my kind of lady, we have a patio 10 by 17 ft and my thinks I spent so many hours decorating sweeping it. Twelve years ago I was going to have a 60 birthday party and I wanted to do pavers in my patio area, my husband said how about cement, yes we spent 4 weekends putting cement. My husband mix the cement and I work with the shovel to get the rocks in the cement to settle down and make a smooth surface. It come out great and over the years I have had different gazebos but this year my husband with my help built the 10by 17ft gazebo. I live near the beach so we get cool breezes all the time, my solution was clear heavy shower curtains on the gazebo facing the green yard full of plants and fruit trees on the opposite ends I of the gazebo I hung beautiful colorful fabric parrots shower curtains. I have a large cedar table with chairs and lots of plants , lights. and a propane fire unit. I was told by a construction guys,, this gazebo is simple but really nice. My neighbor told me I could sit here for hours and enjoy this place. So like you I like to get my hands dirty, I mow my grass, I helped my husband build a 3 car garage, build a block wall, remodel our home over the years. We can do whatever we set our mine to do. Sorry for my long story .

Pretty much how I do things, research a bit and dive in! Learn as you go, fix your mistakes, and aim for good enough over perfect. I love the boxes around the posts! 💕

Well…….there are so many favorites ………the surf board is such a fantastic idea…I will pass this idea on to my brother who is a surfer and needs a personal touch using one of his many surf boards. The sails are a really soft touch to all the hard services and it gets the job done faster than any other type of shade. I felt your pain but you over came and you lived to do your laundry! Good on you! When I was working I would put a load in the washer before I went to work, than when I came home ( sometime around 10:00 at night) I would put that load in the dryer and take what was in The dryer in the house to fold. Every DAY! That is how I kept up the laundry. Before going to bed I would collect all the dirty clothes to take down stairs to wash the next day. Anyway back to YOU…. IM SO PROUD OF YOU TAKING THE BULL BY THE HORNS!! The vib made me want a Margarita and party with you !! Your colors made me happy! Looking forward to seeing more DIY’s!

Thanks for the encouragement. I'm working on a patio project that's going a lot slower than I expected, but each day that I get a little more done on the project, it keeps me pushing on to get it completed. I love your honesty about the problems you encountered, but even more, I love the fact that you pressed on. It really does look great. I'm going to incorporate the planter boxes in my patio project. Thanks for the idea.

Kilee, girl power rocks. You did a fantastic job! After watching how hard you worked, you should never be afraid to tackle any home improvement job! This is from a guy who used to do these things for living. FYI; in the future, if you have another situation like, moving the flower box. Take a long handle spaded shovel (5 - 6 ft. tall) Place it right up along side the bottom of the paving stone of the box, on opposite side in the direction you want to move the box to. Exp. If you want to move it towards the west, place the shovel on one of the east corners. Push the shovel into the ground about 3 to 4 inches. Using the top of the shovel handle as leverage, push it toward you and downward, moving the box a couple of inches at a time. Don't try moving it more than a couple of inches each time, are it twist and break apart. Do the same on the other corner. Keep doing that until you have it in the place you want it. Go back and step on the ground, where the shovel marks are. All the weight is at the bottom, that's why you move it from the bottom. Not trying to be butt hole, just helpful. I'll be over next Saturday for the Bar B Que. (grinning)

I always have laundry! Too funny 😂 Keep up the great work! I’m 66, I’m retired, and hubs finally just gave it up and bought me all my own tools 🛠! I repaired my dryer last week (shoutout to RUclips), and I’m working in the yard this week. I have 3 large dogs, 3 cats, and my little OG chihuahua. My house has become a lost cause! 🤣🤣. You cannot do it all, so do what you can, and what you want to do. Love your patio! Here it is 11 months later, and I’m doing almost exactly the same thing to my patio 🤩. Love the deck board planters!! And the surfboard is awesome too! I swear by E6000. Love the video 🔥

Hi, don't know how you came up but I stayed because of your "things aren't always easy" speech. I can't tell you how many times I have tried to do things I've seen on videos and they just did not go as seen. No great reveal for me! your honesty helped me take a deep breath and stop feeling like I just can't do what they do, I must have missed that secret DIY class. Thanks for sharing 'For REAL!" Vicki

I love that you were transparent about the issues you had while doing this. I think you are the first person I have seen that talked about that. I run into issues a lot while doing DIY's and always think I shouldn't be doing these things since everyone makes it look so easy. Thank you for being honest and reminding us it isn't always easy but the issues can be solved.

I always put a load of laundry in while I do other stuff! As I walk by the room I put it in the dryer! It’s done and I fold it later!

Try Laundry soak on the chair cushions. Mix it with water scrub it own, use a broom if you like. Leave a few minutes and pressure wash off. Everything looks great! Really nice job. Love the rug.
