An uneventful trip is a tribute to your seamanship and preparation. Well done. Very well done you made it look easy and it isn't. And thanks for the well made video.
Strong winds, rain. Thats just what we experience at this moment in northern Germany (storm 'Zeyna'). But sitting relaxed in the armchair by the fireplace and waching you working on the wet fordeck.
Brilliant footage of the storm sails in action , why was your stormsail so low to the boom? I was taught and told you need it slightly higher ( about 1-2ft) using a continuous loop at the hook , something to do with centre of effort so interesting to see you set yours in that way. Did she heel over less ? My Gale sail jib sleeves over the furled Genoa but I saw you had a inner forstay setup .nice
@@itsjustplainsailing5189 I think it's down to footage/camera angle sequence. Controversially, I fly the trisail with the tack about 18inches above the gooseneck. This means the head of the sail is exactly level with the spreaders. I also attach the clew to the mainsail clew outhaul. If taken a lot of criticism for that, but, whilst I concede it isn't quick and easy to rig, it gives me a beautifully balanced boat, using all the same sail controls as usual. Most popular opinion is to lead the Tri sail sheets to the quarter. My set up worked brilliantly and reliably for me 👍
@@SVRoquetta no that’s well explained, not criticism , setting mine up is a pain in the backside so I keep separate trysail sheets attached from the stern ready for use. Really enjoyed all your videos ..
Justin, sorry I know it’s early I’m only 12 wks off my departure for the azures and still struggling on insurance even 3rd party for the marina at Vitoria , how did you over come this? Or did they not ask for proof. I chatted to Hugo the sailing Frenchman last year on this topic and he said solo sailors often have to go without as they just can’t get it, that or there boat needs to be at least 34ft long and crewed by minimum of 2.any help would be gratefully recieved.I know the jester helm have started this topic but unless your on fb then your kinda outta the loop on these matters.
@@itsjustplainsailing5189 a company called 'basic boat insurance' will give you budget European coastal cover. You'll probably find that this is the best you can do. You won't be insured on passage, but in port you will be. It won't cover you in the Azores, but at least you'll have a certificate that you can present. They are very unlikely to read the small print. Don't crash.
That looked a bit bloody hairy at times! Fantastic accomplishment. Well done!
Brilliant, well done for that trip & thank you for sharing, excellent adventure
Love the quote: "I'm starting to see birds and insects again, which is great".
Well done Justin…that was some sphincter tightening weather😉 quite an Ada entire but I bet you learnt heaps about yourself and the boat.
That meant to read adventure but it won’t let me edit/delete or some reason…🤨
You should be proud of yourself for doing the jester challenge, most of us are sitting on our arses wishing we could do it you did it

If it 'twas easy, every fool be doing it. The boat and yourself handled the nasty stuff with aplomb. Good stuff mate.
Thank you mate 😁👍
Well done.
A round of applause from Sweden 👍👍
Almost as rough as the Tamar today!!
Can't beat that feeling of achievement at the end of a long and testing trip. Well done mate.
Thank you! Unforgettable experience
congrats, this is so cool
great content, youve persuaded me to invest in a Herbidean
Dang it!!!! Thought it was a back on back video, I’ve got to wait another 4 days !!!! Noooooooooooooooo!!!! The pain, the anguish! Aaaarrrgggghhhhhh 😂
😂😂😂😂 it's only 4 days mate 😂👍
@@SVRoquetta I know, what’s 4 days in the grand scheme of things , just couldn’t get enough of that last video .
Looking forward to it !!!
Just added some comments on the live chat but didn’t realise they don’t come up on here .
Well done on a very decent sail

Nice video!!
How or where do you put the storm jib? Do you have two fore stays? Do you have like a dedicated stay for it?
I installed an inner forestay for the storm jib 👍
How did the wind vane hold up? Did you take it with you on the new ride?
Thank you
It went with roquetta, but it was excellent, yes 👍
@@SVRoquetta with new boat are you out of jesters due to size?
