Awesome collection. The only thing I will say, as a current CM, while yes our CM lanyards typically do not have pins older than a year, it doesn't mean that all pins older than 1 year are fakes. Also, please try not to trade fakes with CM's as I have heard of possible discipline action for having fakes on your lanyard whilst working. I personally only have pins I like, so fake/real doesn't matter so much to me, but yes great advice and super cool to see old school CM pins. I am slowly building my personal CM collection!
I 💙 your collection, it's pretty awesome! Also, thank you for telling us about Pinderella. I purchased from her for the first time. I get my order today, I'm SO excited to see them!
Great video, I couldn’t believe the biggest WDW RUclips channel had AJ telling everyone to buy pins in bulk from ebay and amazon. No wonders so many people buy them when even advice channels advice people! I like that Paris have some trading boards where they inspect your pin before allowing the trade but sadly the cast lanyards are full of scrappers and fakes
I enjoyed seeing your pins! My own collection are souvenirs of parks and events, and another of Jules Verne-based pins with Disney characters: 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, Tokyo DisneySea, Discoveryland, etc. (and a few Little Mermaid fish pins for added colour ;). Luckily that's a very specific theme, so I don't spend a whole lot of money on it! Thanks for the training on scrappers too. I know I have a couple (the same Hop Low one for example), but knowing that Disney isn't keeping them off the market, I don't mind if I like the pin. I won't trade them though, and I always trade real pins for them, so at least there's one real pin on a cast member lanyard when I'm done with it :)
SW; Disney pins are popular so there are a lot of fakes! Videogame collectors; First time? Seriously thank you for making pin-related videos. Disney pins fascinate me. Also I have a collection of women's roller derby league pins I acquired during my years as an announcer. You're giving me good ideas about display and storage!
there's a link to it that should pop up on the video, as well as it being in the "collections" playlist. Or you can go straight to it at: ruclips.net/video/CGOthsxP5Yg/видео.html
In the world of sports collectibles, there's something called a "phantom pin". What happens in the pin makers think a certain team is going to that year's championship game or series, so they make the pins saying, "Such-and-such a team, Big Game, Whatever Year," and then the team doesn't make it after all. What happens is you end up with a pin that is inaccurate, but still potentially worth something. Collectors can get conned or otherwise lose out on money, so always do research before buying or selling. Thank you for showing your collection! :-D
My pin collection will start with a very scarce pin. I received it from Disney. It is the "Magic Kingdom Veteran of the Day" pin. they are given to the veteran ( I am a retired Army soldier) who helps in the retiring of the flag ceremony that evening at 5 in the main square.
Great vid sir willow my fiance wants to start pin trading so I'll be on the look out for those fakes! Btw sooooo disgusted with what that Brazilian singer did to that little girl in Disney with cancer.
If you're someone that doesn't like the fake pins and wants to do something with them, cut the posts off. Glue a magnet on and you have a disney pin fridge magnet!
Good info about the pins!!! Some of those fakes are kinda cool looking. If I come across a fake that is trying to imitate I definitely wont get it, but I might indulge in a fake that has a cool/original design, just because I like it lol
a "real" fake pin won't have an original design. It'll be a copy of a Disney pin- usually an older one. However there are some people out there that make "fantasy" pins- they are original designs sold by the people who make them, and some of them are incredibly neat pins.
@@marissa5239 No. I almost never buy off of ebay. Have not had good experiences there. I've bought a couple through a couple of fan sites and pin trading groups on Facebook (Disney King Pins is a good example)
I think i have a couple of fakes and i only bought a pin lot once it was 10 pins for around 10 dollars and i think the fakes i have is the metal hidden mickey your blue bird pin a flower aurora pin and a shirt Pinocchio pin plus the three i mentioned are not smooth and they have the silver little mickey on the pins so thank you for doing the video and hope your day is awesome
Chances are they are all fake if a few are. There is a great Facebook group called ‘is my pin a scrapper’, if you post a picture there then people can help

Hey I am a health and safety professional and you peeked my interest when you were showing the cast member pins I would love to see those better.
I can try and get a photo of them. If I do, it'll post on the facebook fan page
Great thank you
wow you've collected a lot of stuff being a former cast member; whoa!

What I clever idea to use the baseball card sleeves to hold the pins. I think I will have to do that for some of my pins that need to be stored.

Which video is it that you talk about the Pluto actor? Can't remember if I've seen it but I'm sure I have, lol. Thanks and God bless!

I found a pin that’s broken the back of the pin attachment is all bent is it possible to fix jt? I
I would try a jeweler and see if they can do anything. I had one remove a locking pin back that broke on one pin I bought.
How are you still at 29k you deserve more

That is an amazing pin. I shot that as photopass many a time and it always brought me to tears.
I collect Tink and Kim Possible pins, I just need the KP pin from Japan to have a complete collection.

What did that Brazilian singer do?
Rachel D. He took a video of a girl with a wig on apparently he thought she looked funny and made a video making fun of her it’s really sad to see.
Sir willow what was the story about the Pluto pin with the ribbon?
He was a character that was sadly hit by a parade float a few years back.
Wow 😞😱 !
