Yeah, this is so well explained compared to some of the other videos. Some failed to mention it had to be in rotate mode, others made it look as if you had to have mandatory rugs under to lift it up. Great video!

@@lovepink2078 you need to rotate it once it's where you want it to be. you can rotate it back afterwards, but if you don't rotate and save that it'll be back on the ground.

As long as items can be nudged upwards by whatever you are using as a platform, then it should work. I haven't yet tested this to float the stage panel itself. I'm still trying to figure out a few things, namely how to place certain types of objects OOB. Seems that such tricks are closely guarded secrets.

OMG MY HERO!!! I just subbed. I am just wondering when using a stage partition (?) to help elevate things, how do you finally remove the partition with everything staying in its place!? I left click and hit escape immediately, but when I go to test if the stairs will remain by themselves…nope. I also want to create indoor windows with waterfalls and wall mounted aquariums and it’s taking me forever to decide where to position a damn house plant!!!

I don't know if this applies. I tried it my self (on PC) and specific heights matter for certain items. ie. the futon can't be too low to the ground it snaps back, even with its rotation
I have not run into that before. I do know that if you fail to remove the loft (or whatever you use to float the object) prior to applying the rotation, it causes problems. I haven't played in a few weeks due to being out of town on business trip, but I will certainly test again when I get back.

Thankfully, i was putting it on my bed so i just put a footstool under my bed (clipped through the top) and when i put the plush pile down, you can't see the stool. it's still not floating, but it looks like it's on the bed which is what i was going for :D

I also mainly use a controller, so I'm unsure if I'm just misunderstanding. When you say Left Click and esc, do you mean click left on the mouse and then hit the ESC button on the keyboard? For me it just returns the item to the inventory. Thank you for your time, my apologies if this is a silly question
i can try it again to see if it has been patched or not, but the timing is a bit picky. You used to need to hit ESC on the keyboard rather quickly after clicking with the left mouse button to place the item. It was definitely less than half a second, but i think if you hit escape too quickly, it may run into problems.
Thank you for this! Question: Someone told me floating ground items is broken right now, can anyone confirm this? I have floated ground items before and can still float a few like the stack of books and the glade sideboard, but I can no longer float items like my double feather bed and hingan sideboard.
does not work for me. i can get the items up to where i want, but when i try to rotate them like you did, it wont let me. it would just stay purple instead of orange. hat can i do? this is as of 6.1.
it is possible that a change has been made which precludes using this method. unfortunately SE feels the need to incentivize continual interaction with their game to the extent that one must frequently "check-in" to their own domicile to stave off destruction of said domicile. that said, i failed in this endeavor, having succumbed to illness and the like. my housing in-game was bulldozed, and i'm feeling a bit down about it... enough so that i really have no incentive to rejoin the game. ironic that they try to put such measures in place to drive revenue, and the opposite effect is achieved. i might find it in my heart to log back in, buy yet another property, and test the process, but i would advise against holding one's breath.

I had to rotate the item then click off it, then rotate it back again to how it used to be.. Basically rotate it back and forth for it to register. That fixed my issue ☺

problem is you need an attachment point for the loft. The stupid "railing" near the floor along the walls will prevent the loft from attaching, which is why I use a stage panel in this video... You only worry about floating the objects on the loft, not the loft itself. Once you get everything to the right height, as in the video, you can remove the stage panel and attach the loft directly to the wall.
Hey there, when I click left and then escape, the loft just goes right back into my inventory and nothing else happens. Any ideas on how to fix this, or what I’m doing wrong?
@@vespira6342 I guess it was patched out :/ tried it today with a Hingan sideboard and did as you mentioned in the video. The glitch works, but as soon as you go out of the housing menu, the furniture drops back to the ground
@@Zayel00 Well, that is unfortunate. It isn't wrecking prior work, so that tells me that it is still possible for the game to load items in that state. I will verify, but I have a suspicion that if it was patched out, we might have to get creative.
I can test it again, but usually the problem is due to people not rotating the object after floating it. My first video covered this, but just in the off chance that SE patched this out recently, I'll check again tomorrow.
Is the glitch fixed ? I cannot do it, the loft wont snap to the stage. Shame to the developers, this method makes housing more fun but instead of supporting it they removed it what the fuck. They should even make loft easier putting stuffs on it, the point of the game is for fun, but they're making housing dull if we can't use loft eh its still working, just need to enable counter snap
I had not seen Shei's video, still haven't but my point was more about putting multiple items on the lifting platform and taking them all up in one shot.
Actually, Shei's vid is bout using the proper height / finding the items hip box. It has nothing to do with the limits of the house with the platform. Nice try tho (:

How are you getting the furniture to stay floating? Everytime I leave my apartment and come back the future is back on the ground.

I heard rotating it should do the trick.

I want to float a bathroom, but I'm having issues with the washbasin item. Are there other items that this doesn't work for?
I do have a question, how do you float rugs? I am using this method but everytime I rotate after removing the Loft it goes back to the floor.

Edit: I figured it out. I had to rotate the item then click off it, then rotate it back again to how it used to be.. Basically rotate it back and forth for it to register. That fixed my issue ☺
Absolutely doesn’t works for me. I rotate the bed, click to replace it, put back the panel and boom the bed comes back to ground zero

Doesnt seem to work anymore. The stuff falls whenever i exit the house

Put out everything you want to float, exit out of housing mode, then go back into housing mode and place your loft to float your furniture
