Thank you for this great lesson video. Unlike Thai, Lao lesson videos about tones are hard to find on youtube, so I'm glad I discovered your video and your channel 🙂

@@LaoLearningChannel One more question : are there tone differences among different regions ?
For example : In Luang Prabang(north) or in Pakse (south), people use different tones than in Vientiane (central).

Yes, people use different tones in different part of the country. My videos are in Vientiane accent.

Thank you, I think this is one of the most important elements in the Lao language : the tones. It definitely helps to separate pronunciations and words' meanings since Lao can be confusing. It also gives more technicality to the lessons. Very interesting to repeat each syllables while observing the writing! Thank you again!

Thank you very much for making this video. I found some places on the internet where there are a few examples of the different tones but you went through each and every letter of the three consonant classes pronouncing all the different possibilities for us. It seems most teachers assume that if they explain about the tones and give us one or two examples, we will automatically understand and be able to speak all of the other tones as well. In order to speak well, we must practice all of the possibilities just like you shared with us in your video here. Only one or two examples of the tones isn't enough. As always the sound quality in this video is excellent. I truly feel that my Lao is making progress by studying with the videos that you produce. I look forward to learning from your next videos. Once again, thank you very much for this video.

One thing I've noticed is that if you don't have the consonant classes understood then you will never get the tones

    1) What about closed/dead syllables?
    2) Are you saying mid and high consonants without a 1 or 2 tone mark are ສຽງຈັດຕະວາ or some other tone?
    Thank you : )
