Question:So if miliary tuberculosis is extrapulmonary tuberculosis as you said at the beginning of the video, why do we see these millet-like lesions in the lungs? Does that mean it is both Pulmonary and extrapulmonary??🤔🤔
Miliary pulmonary disease occurs when organisms draining through lymphatics enter the venous blood and circulate back to the lung. Individual lesions are either microscopic or small, visible (2-mm) foci of yellow-white consolidation scattered through the lung parenchyma (the adjective “miliary” is derived from the resemblance of these foci to millet seeds). Miliary lesions may expand and coalesce, resulting in consolidation of large regions or even whole lobes of the lung.
My mother diagonse miliary TB in lung 3 months back now situtaion became very serious she had a brain swelling doctors told it is because of TB. They are giving heavy steriods Dexamathasone. and now she has very high fluctuations in sugar level also. Please tell us that it is treatable or not and please suggest us hospital for that.
