Y’all are legendary. Even though I’m a white guy who didn’t grow up in quite the same environment, I’ve seen and been through a lot of rough shit. Thank you Cube for being a man of virtue. You’ve taught me a lot of what it really means to be a man and survive in this crazy world. Ethnicity and background doesn’t matter when it comes to music, message and soul. What matters is just what he said: if the creator of something has true character and good intentions, that’s what makes the art/creation actually have meaningful value.
Regardless of you being white your still hiphop . Ninth wonder said with out Charles Lynn where would hiphop be. There white and then there’s hiphop. Every instrument that’s use in recordings they are created by white ppl Asian ppl ect. As long as you appreciate the ones that create the culture and you stand up for the social injustice that blk ppl experience you good to me.
GREAT interview!!!!.......no matter how much money and success Cube has.......he is always humble and stays true to who he is......nothing but more love and respect for Ice Cube.......wishing you nothing but more blessings and prosperity King!🙏💯💪👍
First saw Ice Cube live on The Predator tour in the U.K. Dub C was his hype man. I went out and bought Ain’t A Damn Thing Changed the very next day. Dub is still under the radar as a rapper, but he is truly one of the greats. So good to see he and Cube still friendin’ after all these years.
Brother O'shea aka Ice Cube remains the GOAT lyricist, jacking beats and handing defeats, painting tales of the city of no pity, boulevard of broken Hollywood dreams and East LA schemes. West Coast G-funk baby!
This was a dope interview! A lot of stories that I never heard before. Much love and respect to the big homie Ice Cube! CJ and Dub keep up the great work!
I Grew Up in Phoenix when Cube was a Student , as Well as a Rapper . We would See him in His Whip. I went to a NWA concert with DOC , Too Short , Eazy E ! We relized Who He was .
As an east coast baby I gotta say.... Yeah hands down cube is pound for pound the best storyteller in hip hop. Not just that he told many iconic stories, but you have to be lyrically advanced or elite to consistently do it over and over. In the 80's nwa did not get radio play but the word of mouth carried all across America. His impact is unmatched. Only a very small few can even be compared. The fact that he went on to write legendary films alongside that should show his greatness alone.
I'm just happy to see Cube gets his flowers while he alive, hes been through a lot and still remains humble and productive, Dub is a good friend you can see the history and camaraderie here
I had to kill an hour waiting for this record store to open up, this was the first video that popped up on my homepage at the exact perfect time. These stories are so important and I’m so glad we’re in a time when we can hear the full uncut history by these legends
What a great interview! I love how you just let him talk. No interruptions while Cube spoke. Someone needs to make a playlist of cube storytelling songs only so we can put the debate to bed! Looking forward to more west coast legends interviews.
@PatrickJones187 the message on the song...cube always put socially conscious in his lyrics...especially the early stuff...he is still the king of west coast for me...
I grew up 4 blocks down the street from Washington High. Its great to see black men from my hood grow up and accomplish great things. WC lived 8 blocks from me while Cube lived west of Normandie 3 mins from where i lived
Wonderful in depth interview, I am a hip hop historian with Cube being my favorite artist!!! Growing up in the bay in the 80’s-90’s what a time!! Much luv to Dub and CJ and of course Cube!! Cube felt comfortable with y’all and we got to hear more in depth!! Thank you 🙏
This is the first interview that I heard in depth details about the beginning stages of how everything came together. Great job CJ & Dub and salute to the Don Mega 👊🏾

This is South Central royalty! Thankful to have grew up on these 3 as a lil BG! Dope ass interview! "A Gat is a man's best friend" was one of his hardest story telling records as well.
