Impact Extrusion
Impact extrusion is an extrusion process used to create metal products and objects via a press. It can be performed either with a mechanical press or a hydraulic press. Regardless, the press is responsible for forcing a metal slug through a die. As the metal slug passes through the die, it’s deformed. This allows manufacturing companies to create new products and objects in the same shape, as well as dimensions, as the die with which it’s used.
Hydrostatic Extrusion
In this process, the container is filled with a fluid which transmits pressure to the billet which is then extruded through the die. No friction acts along the walls of the container.ext2 Due to pressurized fluid, lubrication is very efficient and as a result extruded product has good surface finish and dimensional accuracy.
