  • In this video I explain what RNAV means and how to fly RNAV Departure and Arrival routes.
    Tips and Instructions are only to be used for the Flight Simulator on your PC! It should go without saying that I am only flying a PC Simulator, not a real aircraft. My videos therefore are not intended as professional instruction! And my videos do not show SOP ( Standard Operating Procedure) of any distinct airline.

      +GoAppo ... I am by no means perfect. And people don't expect me to be, since they know how complicated and demanding flying can be. So don't be afraid, try it and keep practicing 👍🏻

    As far as I know it should maintain the lower speed limit in descend and not accelerate to the optimum descent speed each time speed approaches the lower limit. I remember reeding that somewhere in FCOM.

    • @Blackbox711
      @Blackbox711  7 лет назад

      +"Brain Explosion" .. can't speak for the real aircraft. But the FSLabs does exactly that. Regards

    • @MONRFin
      @MONRFin 7 лет назад

      Blackbox711 yes I know. Just saying that FSLabs made a mistake.

    • @Blackbox711
      @Blackbox711  7 лет назад

      +"Brain Explosion" .. that is the problem I have. People telling me that the FSlabs is doing something wrong but cannot back it up with hard evidence. I will have a look through my old companies FCOM. Maybe I can find something on this topic. From my old memory I do recall however that the FMGC does actually go into speed mode and accelerate again. But I could be wrong.

    • @Blackbox711
      @Blackbox711  7 лет назад +1

      +"Brain Explosion" .. found it. It says "If the aircraft gets low on the computed descent path the speed will decrease towards the lower limit of the speed range with idle thrust. When the lower limit is reached the A/THR will revert to SPEED/MACH mode and apply thrust to maintain the descent path at this lower speed." So the FSLabs correctly simulates the mode change. However what it should not do is to accelerate to the middle of the range but maintain the lower limit. Hope that helped.

      Blackbox711 thanks very much. That is exactly what I meant. It just doesn't make sense to accelerate to the optimum speed every time speed goes low. It increases the fuel burn, the noise, it makes passengers feel uncomfortable etc. Anyway, keep up the great work, BB, your videos are awesome!

    Hi, excellent video to learn from. I have a question about approaching.
    after I pushing the approach button, suddenly the aircraft get off path and turn Straight to the landing strip. what is the reason for that issu?

    Hello Blackbox711, I have a question regarding required RNP APCH equipment. In the A320 FCOM I found information that "Two FCU channels" are required to start RNP APCH. What is the reason for such a requirement? Why one channel is not enough? I would be grateful for Your reply. Thanks.

    • @Blackbox711
      @Blackbox711  6 лет назад

      That is for redundancy. As you stated correctly, that is to start the approach. Once you are flying the approach one FCU channel is allowed to fail.

    Hi BB. Little hardware question: What display do you have on your setup? I'm looking for a 4K display monitor but there aren't too much info about them and I prefer the opinion of someone already using it in a flight simulation environment. Thanks in advance.

      +Iván Melon Lewis .. I am using a Asus Predator 4 K Monitor and really enjoy flying using that resolution. It is a great experience. And performance is fine with a 1080 NVIDIA.
