- Another journey through the charming Pałuki. Before us is Żnin, with a history that dates back to times before our statehood. Jan Śniadecki, an astronomer, mathematician, philosopher, geographer, a man of vast knowledge, many passions and skills, is associated with this city. It's hard to believe that today's sleepy town, in the 18th century outnumbered even Bydgoszcz. In the interwar period, the city was enriched with new plants and enterprises. It was from here that Ilustrowany Kurier Polski and the famous My Friend were distributed all over Poland. The icon of the city is the 15th-century Gothic, defensive town hall tower, which is currently the seat of the Museum of the Pałuki Region.
Less than a quarter of an hour separates Żnin from Lubostroń. Here you can admire a beautifully preserved classicist palace from the turn of the 18th and 19th centuries. For the construction of the palace, bases, capitals and entire columns were purchased earlier for the construction of the Temple of Divine Providence in Warsaw.
Łabiszyn is a former private noble town founded in 1369. Its name probably comes from prince Łabisza. Most of the architectural monuments are now concentrated around the picturesque market square. An interesting, extremely picturesque place is the so-called Łabiszyńska Island. The beautifully landscaped area encourages relaxation, recreation and various cultural activities conducted here by the city.
