    As bad as Heskey was at this stage of his career Martin O'Neill still saw fit to offer him a lengthy contract and a huge pay rise. Jesus fucking Christ.

      Even worse, he had been even more cack at Wigan in the 2 or 3 years after this particular season
      Always found it very bizarre any Villa fan warmed to him, remember thinking at the time why not just sign James Beattie who was doing bits at Sheffield United that season. In no way glamorous, but he would have been cheaper and couldn't have done any worse than Heskey

      @@rustyshackleford4918 he was doing well at Saints then I remember about a year after he signed for Everton (he chose them over us) we beat them 4-0 and everyone was singing “what’s the score Beattie”
