I am just about to fit sound to my loco the same as yours, did you have to cut out to put the speaker up the front as my has so little space inside the loco?
I can’t believe how big the Chimney is on this - 10mm diameter! I am wanting to put the TTS sound decoder in with an additional decoder for a smoke unit, giving plenty of milliampere for a smoke unit. This will have its own problems as there needs to be plenty of room for two decoders! The additional decoder might seem overkill but I’m not sure of the output of the sound decoder and, obviously, I don’t want to overload it and blow it. The additional decoder will be programmed separately with its own number and CV’s to match appropriately. It will then be programmed as a “consist” with the TTS so that it works in tandem........ that’s the theory anyway! Any thoughts?
Sorry about that. If you push the front bogey to one side there is a small screw that needs to be removed. Once that is removed the body lifts off, I can't remember but I think part of the running gear is attached to the loco boddy so you may need to watch for that.
I dont know how you could have gotten that decoder to fit. I am doing the same, but the width seems too big and there does not appear to be space above the motor.
@@GwionRhysDavies In the end did not have to remove it. Fits above the socket on a slight angle. The speaker in the tender, I had to drill a slot in the floor to allow the sound out. Connection with some micro 2 pin plugs from the tender to the loco.
@@GwionRhysDavies How do you remove the weight? I remove the screw and it is loose but I cannot get it out. I also remove the inner chimney liner, but same problem. Am I missing something? Thanks
i have this 1 and the front wheels come off the track all the time any idea what i could do its al clean i have removed and tightend the screw still derails on slight corners
Do NOT tighten it. Causes the front bogie to have little free play up and down. Keep it slightly loose such that it has some free play up and down and it won't come off on inclines and curves.

I watched this to see how to remove the body....which was the bit you missed off!

Did you remove the weight at the front of the boiler? Unfortunately I didn't cover that in this video.

@@ap6973 If I'm honest, I'm not entirely sure how I got it out. I just kept fiddling with it until it popped out.
@A P I've took the weight out of mine. Undo the screw, and pop the smokebox door off. It should just slide out after that
